Students are asked to find different ‘pieces’ of a gothic story (for example: characters, setting, curses, colours, lighting, weather etc) - these will be stuck around the room before the lesson begins. Once each group has found every piece, they then have 15 minutes to discuss and plan a gothic story using the elements they have collected. Then students will use these ideas to independently write up their own gothic story. Lesson is aimed at KS3 but can be adapted for older years. Lesson is planned using the TEEP model. Objectives and outcomes are designed to fit the GCSE criteria to prepare students for the style of the examinations. Differentiated using Aim, Challenge and Super Challenge tasks.
