Comparisons In Physics - Activity, Worksheet, Synoptic Prep

(0)
An activity that takes a conceptual approach to get students to make comparisons between different concepts in Physics. Electric vs Grav fields Capacitors vs Springs Capacitors vs Radioactive Decay Translational vs Rotational Dynamics Circular vs SHM Resistors vs Capacitors
Wave Speed Experiments
mrforsterstemmrforsterstem

Wave Speed Experiments

(0)
A collection of experiments to determine the speed of waves in various different contexts. This could be used in A-Level and AP Physics courses, it was used originally in DP Physics.
Determining g experimentally
mrforsterstemmrforsterstem

Determining g experimentally

(0)
A collection of instruction sheets explaining how students can determine g experimentally using a wide array of methods. This was developed for IBDP Physics syllabus but could be of use for an AP or A-Level Physics class
Determining Thermal Properties
mrforsterstemmrforsterstem

Determining Thermal Properties

(0)
A series or sequence of activity sheets that students could follow to determine a range of values related to specific thermal capacities from scratch. Used to prepare students for the IA in the DP Physics course it could be useful to students studying AP and A-level Physics.

Edexcel IAL - CORE Practical 5 - Investigate the effects of length, tension and mass per unit lengt

(0)
Edexcel IAL - CORE Practical 5 - Investigate the effects of length, tension and mass per unit length on the frequency of a vibrating string or wire Suitable for Edexcel IAL and Edexcel regular A-Level this is the fifth of many documents that students can use to complete the core practicals from the Edexcel A-level and IA-Level syllabus. I will be completing a worksheet such as this for every CORE practical in the syllabus.
Edexcel IAL - CORE Practical 3 - Determine the Young modulus of a material

Edexcel IAL - CORE Practical 3 - Determine the Young modulus of a material

(0)
Edexcel IAL - CORE Practical 3 - Determine the Young modulus of a material Suitable for Edexcel IAL and Edexcel regular A-Level this is the third of many documents that students can use to complete the core practicals from the Edexcel A-level and IA-Level syllabus. I will be completing a worksheet such as this for every CORE practical in the syllabus.

Edexcel IAL - CORE Practical 2 - Using the falling ball method to determine the viscosity of a liqui

(0)
Edexcel IAL - CORE Practical 2 - Using the falling ball method to determine the viscosity of a liquid Suitable for Edexcel IAL and Edexcel regular A-Level this is the second of many documents that students can use to complete the core practicals from the Edexcel A-level and IA-Level syllabus. I will be completing a worksheet such as this for every CORE practical in the syllabus.

(0)
Edexcel IAL - CORE Practical 4 - Determine the speed of sound in air using a 2- beam oscilloscope, signal generator, speaker and microphone Suitable for Edexcel IAL and Edexcel regular A-Level this is the fourth of many documents that students can use to complete the core practicals from the Edexcel A-level and IA-Level syllabus. I will be completing a worksheet such as this for every CORE practical in the syllabus.
Hertzprung Russell Diagrams Task

Hertzprung Russell Diagrams Task

(0)
A neat little resource that requires students use their matematical knowledge of powers to solve some problems that relate to the Stefan–Boltzmann law and Hertzprung Russell Diagrams.
Lab - Graphing Uncertainties

Lab - Graphing Uncertainties

(0)
A little practical activity that students can do to visualise what uncertainties are in relation to graphs - error bars. Originally meant to be taught in Topic 1 of IBDP Physics
Movie Physics - Question Sheet
mrforsterstemmrforsterstem

Movie Physics - Question Sheet

(0)
A document with a bunch of questions related to famous scenes in movies. Contains 16 film clip question sheets with a link to a youtube video that analyses them.
Demonstration Vectors With Trolleys

Demonstration Vectors With Trolleys

(0)
This idea was taken from the old Advancing Physics A-Level syllabus but works on a number of courses. Great demonstration when paired with an etch-a-sketch to get across vectors concept
IBDP Physics Induction Doc
mrforsterstemmrforsterstem

IBDP Physics Induction Doc

(0)
This could be used for IBDP and A-Level as a way of giving students a taster of what DP Physics is all about and/or a way of identifying strengths and weaknesses of students at the start of a course.

Interactive Periodic Table + Other materials

(0)
This interactive powerpoint has buttons that can be navigated to explore trends, to explore the concepts of ion formation, reactivity, states of matter among other things in a way that is suitable for students studying (I)GCSEs
Periodic Table - Display
mrforsterstemmrforsterstem

Periodic Table - Display

(0)
A collection of materials that can be cut out and mounted onto card to produce a very large periodic table display. Students can also research the periodic table, I recommend the file being converted to a Sharepoint or Google doc and the students can access it siimultaneously.
