Lesson can be used for all sorts - I have used it with Titanic in recent years. The five R's is a method used to break down and examine the historical significance of an event or person. Many historians have different variations of this method. The five R's we will use are: Remembered, revealed, remarked, resonates and resulted. The order does not necessarily matter, neither the need to do all five of them.

There are sources to examine from textbooks. These files can be edited down so you can use just a few sources with your classes. Yes, this could be a fun lesson. After my class tackles a few sources and see what the author was trying to do we move onto the famous Keep Calm Poster. This is planned out in class and the students finish it for homework. The mini-lesson leads you straight to the Keep Calm Task. The lesson could be extended into two lessons if you want to explore propaganda in greater detail.
