This 15 minute assembly is focused on what rights people have in the UK. It is suitable for KS3-KS5 (Ages 11-18, Grades 6-12, Years 7-13) and can be used as an assembly, a PSHE or Citizenship tutor time session or is easily lengthened to last a whole lesson. It includes:

  • Different rights that we have and what these mean
  • What human rights are and what we are entitled to
  • Discussion questions about human rights
  • Two downloaded videos about human rights that will never disappear
  • A thinking task plenary to finish the session

It was originally a PSHE tutor time Year 9 session and was received very well by both students and teachers. It fits well into the new RSE and Health Curriculum, the PSHE and Citizenship curriculum or a whole school equality agenda.
