Build confidence with negative numbers using this engaging Negative Numbers and Temperature Worksheet, ideal for KS2 and KS3 Maths, small-group intervention, homework, warm-ups, or revision lessons.
Learners work with real-life temperature contexts, helping them understand negative values, ordering integers and calculating rises, drops and differences in temperature.

The worksheet begins with ordering temperature values from coldest to warmest, followed by sets of questions asking pupils to identify the lowest temperature from a mixed list.
The second half of the worksheet provides multi-step temperature-change problems, including rises, drops, differences between temperatures and interpreting movement across zero.

This real-world context makes the topic accessible and meaningful for pupils who struggle with abstract negative number ideas. A complete answer sheet is included for quick marking or self-checking.

What’s Included

◆ Ordering temperatures (coldest to hottest)
◆ Identifying the lowest temperature from mixed lists

This exact same resource is on TWINKL- I wish i'd known that before I paid- unsure which came first but the questions are identical. Just to let you know in case you made it and they copied- if this was copied from twinkl though I would be disappointed as I used Tes to avoid using Twinkl for every group/activity only to get the same stuff and pay for both.
