Four in a Row Interactive Quiz Game: Mental Maths GCSE FREE

Four in a Row is a game for your whiteboard. Nothing needs to be printed or prepared to play this game. The game-play is somewhere between noughts and crosses and blockbusters. Two teams alternate, competing to correctly answer questions on the grid. The board is interactive - clicking tiles changes the colours and also reveals answers. Four in a Row games on five maths topics are available individually from my shop or as a bundle at a reduced price. The level of challenge is aimed at the foundation level GCSE exam. The questions are adapted from AQA non-calculator exam papers. A pen and paper may help some students at times.

MATHS SCREENERS for DIFFERENTIATION - Years 2 to 5 - Australian - Free sample

This product is a free sample of the complete package which contains Maths screeners for Number, Place Value, Patterns and Algebra as well as Decimals as set out in the Australian Curriculum. ACARA references are provided for those who need them. There are 4 screeners (2 pages each) for each year level from Year 2 to Year 5. All the answers are included. I have also added Class Overviews which you can use after you have administered a screener to the whole class. Collating the results can be done by a teaching assistant or willing volunteer and you will have a good preliminary idea of the range of skills and the degree of differentiation required. The screeners are basic and give diagnostic information to identify and manage intervention groups. They provide a range of data to begin group work targeting skill deficits. You will identify further scaffolding requirements as you go, but these screeners are the first step. My IMP programs are ideal to provide the intervention necessary and the games I use consolidate these skills. I've been doing it this way for years now, and I know it works. I have a bundle containing the four programs for a school-wide intervention strategy. I also have bundles at year levels with the games that target skill deficits specific to that year level if you want to go that way.

These screeners are based on the Australian Curriculum and have ACARA references. They have been developed to complement my IMP programs and provide the skill targets for an Intervention Program. The teaching assistant would have the ANSWER BOOK to REMEDIATE in real time and consolidate in REAL TIME. Students will progress quickly because skill deficits are targeted directly and no time is wasted. Consolidate with games and include these in the regular classroom environment where your intervention group can teach the others. This is an ideal way to be inclusive and to generalise skills. The 60 Task Cards can be used in Intervention or they can be added to a Maths Centre, depending on the level of skill development across the class. I recommend games because I use them all the time in my intervention sessions and I know they work. The repetition of playing a game leads to mastery. The trick is to match the game to the skill deficit so your students progress. All the links are given in the program to help you do just that.
