Virtual Road Trip -Research, Planning & Budgeting Project

Virtual Road Trip -Research, Planning & Budgeting Project

***Want to bring more real-world learning to your classroom?**** This is the perfect project to get kids excited about learning how to research, plan and budget for a road trip. They will choose their destination, the accommodations and three attractions to visit - all while having to stay within their $1000 budget. This project includes math and language arts. Students will answer word problems and balance their budget. They will also write their opinion on attractions they have visited. The final part of the project is creating three virtual postcards from locations your students have "visited". I have provided a template in PPT and a link for the Google Classroom. All you have to do is print this out and the project is ready to go. Complete Student Examples Included for each step of the project. Project rubric included.

Place Value Puzzles (KS2)

Place Value Puzzles (KS2)

6 Place Value Crossnumber Puzzles, originally designed for Key Stage 2 and equivalents. There are 2 puzzles for numbers up to 5 digits / ten thousands, 2 puzzles for numbers up to 6 digits / one hundred thousands, and 2 puzzles for numbers up to 7 digits / millions. For each of 5, 6 and 7-digit numbers the first puzzle is for practising reading the word version and writing the digit version in the grid, while the second, more challenging puzzle for each involves adding and subtracting from large numbers (increase by 1000, take away five hundred thousand etc). These more challenging puzzles use a mixture of words and digits for the given calculations, with pupils entering digits in the grid as before. SOLUTIONS for all puzzles are provided in the same file. These are a more engaging alternative to worksheets and should help pupils consolidate their understanding of place value in a fun way. This pack also provides good differentation and could also be used across different age groups / classes. You can get these puzzles alongside my other Place Value activities and games (large differentiated sets of self-check Place Value trails for 5, 6 and 7-digit numbers and also decimal Place Value games) in this good value bundle: KS2 Place Value Activities Bundle Some of my other popular KS2 Maths resources: Mental Maths Bundle Multiplication / Division Bundle Angles / Symmetry Bundle For lots of engaging Maths, Literacy and French resources, visit FullShelf Resources
