AQA GCSE: Trilogy Chemistry Relay Cards (with answers)

AQA GCSE: Trilogy Chemistry Relay Cards (with answers)

20 questions covering a range of content from the chemistry GCSE Trilogy specification. Answers are short and sweet, and is ideal for revision or fun game recapping content. Students get very competitive! I would advise printing in colour and laminating so they can be used multiple times. I would suggest marking on the back though so you know which pack each card belongs too. I have provided answers to all questions. On some questions there are more challenging BONUS questions that you can allocate extra points for. I usually have a prize for the first group to finish, and then one for those with the highest number of points. Students cannot move onto the next question until they have given you the right answer. I usually think 4 per team is ideal for this. If there are any mistakes please let me know, and I would really appreciate if you could take the time to review. Thanks :)

Most of these resources are my own, some ideas and resources have been borrowed from others. However, I have pooled resources to make a bank of Christmas themed science lessons, so science can be taught right up until the end of term.

New spec exam style question starter on catalysts

New spec exam style question starter on catalysts

Starter based on real exam question and real responses as an Afl style activity. I have attempted to highlight the misconceptions and mixed concepts the students exhibit when answering exam questions. Based on AQA, but would work for other boards suggested uses: Use as a starter: students to select which they think is the best answer (quick starter), for a longer task, they are then to decide why the other answers are less than perfect This could be extended to be the focus of a whole lesson, if you use the question as a starter, go through the concepts and re-visit at the end of the lesson to see if the students have changed their minds. Commentary on student answers are included.

GCSE Chem (9-1) - Predicting Products of Electrolysis (Two worksheets plus knowledge organiser)

GCSE Chem (9-1) - Predicting Products of Electrolysis (Two worksheets plus knowledge organiser)

This resource is a must have for Electrolysis revision, classwork or homework. This resource is made up of two worksheets plus answers for both. Students must predict the ions which will be present during an electrolysis of various electrolytes and then decide which ions will be attracted to either electrode. It is supported by a great knowledge organiser which guides students through HOW to predict what will be formed. Knowledge Organiser (written against the Edexcel Specification but easily applicable to others)r. I’ve even included worked answers for the worksheets to save you the bother! (Students may need access to a periodic table and/or a reactivity series which includes hydrogen).

OCR Revision Mats Biology, Chemistry, Physics 9-1

OCR Revision Mats Biology, Chemistry, Physics 9-1

Hi all! This is a revision mat set I created to help my students summarise their work bit by bit to try to keep them on top of the enormous content of the new 9-1 2016 curriculum. Hopefully it will help with revision as it is a great little activity. I contains a mixture of diagrams, calculations, questions, definitions, formulae that are needed and a touch of fun. I will be adding further resources as I create them. These mats: Biology goes up to page 33, Chemistry goes up to page 35, Physics goes up to page 23. All of the OCR textbook. Keep me posted on how it goes! :-)
