River Landscapes in the UK
This bundle contains all but 2 lesson required to teach the River landscapes in the UK unit, which is part of the new AQA GCSE Specification.
The lessons missing are an example of a river valley in the UK to identify its major landforms of erosion and deposition and the example of a river mangement scheme.
I have included the first lesson of the unit for free so that you can get a feel for the style of lessons.
Urban Regeneration - Birmingham
This lesson is based around the new AQA GCSE Specification. This is a lesson in the unit titled Urban Issues and Challenges. The main aim of this lesson is cover the following element of the specification:
An example of an urban regeneration project to show:
• reasons why the area needed regeneration
• the main features of the project.
NOTE: If page numbers are mention then the figure is either already on the powerpoint or all relevant writing can be found in the factfile provided. If you would prefer to use the actual textbook this is the Cambridge gcse book.
NOTE: This lesson is good to follow on from my other lessons on Birmingham which are linked to the UK’s major city element.
AQA Geography Paper 2 Revision Booklet
This is a comprehensive revision booklet based around the AQA Geography Paper 2 exam.
The idea of this booklet is for students to complete a range of activities in a bit to aid their revision, before their exam. I originally created this booklet for PP students, however this this is more than suitable for anyone to complete. Please note all case studies and examples can be edited to match the ones you use.

Erosional and Depositional Landforms - Rivers
This lesson is based around the new AQA GCSE specification. This is a lesson in the unit titled River landscapes in the UK. The main aim of this lesson is to cover the following element of the specification:
- Charactersistics and formation of landforms resulting from erosion and deposition - meanders and ox-bow lakes.
Waves
This lesson aims to get students to gain an understanding of the different types of waves and to understanding the factors influencing tides.
By the end of the lesson students will be able to answer the following key questions:

How we use the coast
This lesson aims to allow students to gain an understanding of the different ways we can use the coasts, in addition to the different conflicts that this can cause.

- Who uses coastal areas?
- Why might conflict occur along the coast line?
Migration and Urbanisation
This lesson is based around the new AQA GCSE Specification. This is the second lesson in the unit titled Urban Issues and Challenges. The main aim of this lesson is cover the following element of the specification:
- Factors affecting the rate of urbanisation – migration (push–pull theory), natural increase.
Atlas Challenge
This lesson aims to get students use to using an atlas and being able to identify countries, towns, cities and oceans using the index of an Atlas. In addition to this it teaches students how to write an accurate geographical description. By the end of the lesson students will be able to answer the following key questions:
How do we use an atlas to find places?
How do we write a geographical description?
Types of Geography
This lesson aims to show students the 3 different types of geography: physical, human and environmental. Students will be able to answer the following key questions by the end of the lesson:

What is the differences between the types of geography?

Geography in the news
This lesson aims to get students thinking about how geography is represented in the news, whilst also ensuring students understand the difference between social, economic and environmental. By the end of the lesson students will be able to answer the following key questions:
What does social, economic and environmental mean?
How does geography link to the news?
What types of geography are located in the news?
UK Human Geography
This lesson aims to get students to think and learn about the location of key cities/towns across the UK. In addition to this it also ensures students have a clear understanding of the differences between: Great Britain, The United Kingdom and The British Isles.
Planning an Investigation
This lesson aims to get students involved in the planning of their own investigation. This is aimed at year 7, completing their very first piece of fieldwork. The fieldwork is based around locating the most unsafe location within their school. It gets students examining different data collection methods, and the sampling strategies they will use. Although this lesson mentions a school, it is easily adaptable to mention your own individual school. By the end of the lesson students will be able to answer the following key questions:
What is a hypothesis?
How can we collect data?
Which data collection technique is the best?
What are the different types of sampling strategies?
Desert Opportunities - Qatar
This lesson is based around the new AQA GCSE specification. This is a lesson in the unit titled Living World. The main aim of this lesson is to cover the following element of the specification:

This lesson aims to get students to think about the different way we can mitigate climate change. These include; Alternative energy, carbon capture, replanting trees and international agreements.
Natural Causes of Climate Change
This lesson aims to get students to think about the 3 main theories behind the natural causes of climate change; Orbital Theory, Solar Output Theory and Eruption Theory.
Food Chains and Food Webs
This lesson aims to get students to understand what a food chain and food web are, in addition to gaining an understanding of why it is important to understand the balance in an ecosystem.
