This isn’t a lesson plan, rather a piece of extension material which proved useful for stretching some particularly enthusiastic students. This essay was written as part of the Culture and Politics of the Middle East module - a module at the University of Warwick. It achieved a medium-high first. It discusses Edward Said’s framework of Orientalism with particular reference to the fact that Said relies on both humanist and postcritical ontologies.
