What is philosophy?
Introductory scheme of work addressing the question of what is philosophy?
Students will study study famous philosophers such as Socrates, Plato and Aristotle and consider how their thoughts and teachings are relevant to the modern world.
Lessons are designed with non subject specialists in mind to be able to pick up and teach. Relevant information is on screen and task information is one screen also. Lesson includes all relevant resources ready to print.
Marriage
Fourth lesson for GCSE AQA Theme A: Relationships and families. This lesson focuses on why people choose to get married, traditional Christian weddings, same sex marriages and provides and opportunity to check in with students learning throughout the unit so far.

The future of artificial intelligence.
Final lesson of four focusing on introducing pupils to artificial intelligence and the ethics around it.
Students will consider how far AI can go, the coffee test, real life examples of AI in use today and then consider the fictional future of AI seen in the Terminator film series.

Islam and terrorism
Third lesson in scheme of work exploring Islam and it’s fundamental beliefs. The series now looks at how Islam has become linked with terrorism.
This lesson addresses the issue of Islamophobia and introduces students to important key words that we help them understand why there is a link between Islam and terrorism despite this being based on a minority of Muslims. The lesson breaks down misconceptions about what Jihad is and then students study the Westminster bridge attack of 2017.

Pacifism
First lesson in scheme of work focusing on religion, peace and conflict. These lessons look at a number of different aspects of war including the causes, the moral aspect of going to war, pacifism, weapons of mass destruction and the just war theory.
This lesson introduces students to the concept of pacifism and the influencial role in can play in warfare. The lessons take a specific look at the example of Desmond Doss and shows clips from Hacksaw ridge.
