AQA A Level Sociology- Theories of Crime- Revision sheet

(0)
A revision sheet for students to complete independently on the theories of crime. The second side of the sheet has some hints to help students complete the sheet- it can be done without notes and then students can be encouraged to use notes/ textbook to complete the rest in a different colour. There are 4 example 30 mark exam questions that students can plan/ write to further consolidate their revision of the theories. Would take 1 hour to do the the theories revision, could spend two hours if doing the exam questions too.

A retrieval activity- a list of 9 sociologists printed and given to the students on theories of the family- students identify which theory they belong to and what their key ideas are. Students can complete from memory, but can use notes/ textbook if needed. I’ve included the answers on a PPT to share with students to improve their work. I’d give students 15-20 mins for the task, 10 mins for feedback.

AQA A Level Psychology- Relationships Retrieval Pyramid

Retrieval pyramid for the relationships topic. It is differentiated- the questions get harder as your go further up the pyramid. I’ve integrated some issues and debated and reserach methods questions as well. Answers are included on the second page. Give students 20 mins to complete, and then 10 mins to feedback answers. Good for a revision task- students can then do further revision on the areas they couldn’t answer.

There are application tasks for students to complete which will allow them to check their understanding of the topic as well as two exam questions. The mark scheme for these is in the powerpoint. I would do this over a double lesson (2 hours) with lots of cold calling and mini whiteboard use to check and consolidate learning. I’ve included a 16m question that students could plan and write- either in the lesson if you have time, or you could set for homework.

A scenario followed by 8 questions that require students to apply their knowledge of year 12 research methods. This is a two sided sheet- enlarge on to A3. It has some parts filled in, and students can fill in the rest as part of their revision. It would take an hours lesson- they could do the exam questions either for homework or you could use it in a double lesson and they do the exam questions in the second hour. The exam questions are taken from practice papers- I’ve uploaded the mark schemes for them too. All the evaluation points are taken from mark schemes- with space for students to extend their points.
