Starter is a word search of 12 words related to snowy conditions. There is then a teacher PPT with the word search solution. Also within the PPT there are 5 picture prompts for pupils to describe. There is then a story of a boy who has built an igloo to give pupils ideas for their own creative story. The future tense uncovered! This is a series of at least 2 lessons to introduce the futur proche and the futur simple. Included in the 47 slide teacher PPT presentation is revision of the conjugation of “aller” then a crossword to check understanding. The formation of the “futur proche” is shown step by step. There is a match up activity of useful time phrases. Next is an exercise to insert the correct form of “aller” in sentences containing high frequency vocabulary. There is a speaking activity with picture prompts of using the 3rd person with the “futur proche” and forming negatives. To review understanding there is a slide of 15 sentences and pupils need to say whether they are in the future or the past. There is then a reading activity about holidays to build grammar awareness, distinguishing present past and future formations. Pupils are then taken through the formation of the “future simple”. This is very visual using animation and clear explanations. Irregular stems are listed. There is an exercise of 14 sentences and pupils have to decide whether they are in the future or the past. There is a match up activity of verbs in different forms. There is an exercise of 15 irregular verbs that need to be unscrambled. Next is a dialogue of two people writing about their future plans and pupils need to identify the verbs in the future. Easy to develop this to a comprehension task. There is a gap-fill exercise to complete on expressions that imply the future. There are 13 speaking questions for career and future plans. Next is a dominoes reading exercise can be done independently or in groups. There are then 3 reading past exam questions with solutions. The plenary is a 3-2-1 block review. There is an accompanying book of worksheets to complement the exercises within the PPT. Also included are the dominoes.

This resource pack is deigned for pupils that are either learning the conditional tense for he first time or recapping. The teacher PPT takes pupils through the formation. There are exercises to check understanding and translation and gap-fill exercises for pupils to demonstrate understanding, For creativity and the opportunity for pupils to expand their vocabulary there is a speaking game where pupils are posed with dilemmas and they have to say what they would do whilst justifying their opinion. It would be easy to adapt the speaking game to a written task. Also within the teacher PPT is a listening gap-fill of a song that uses the conditional tense. There is a reading comprehension whereby pupils read the accounts of 9 people saying what they would do if hey won the lottery and answer a series f questions. This is excellent stimulus material before starting writing or speaking work.

The main topics within the questions are health, holidays, work experience and future plans. Key exam techniques are required and it is an ideal platform to challenge pupils. Included within this resource pack is a verb table of three regular verbs in the present tense. One from each verb group. Also included are 21 conjugated irregular verbs, on the second sheet of this presentation there is a second table whereby pupils can test their knowledge of all 24 verbs by writing out the correct conjugation. This is excellent for consolidation and revision. It is something the pupils can use as independent revision. The second resource is a two page workbook for pupils to demonstrate their knowledge of the present tense in a challenging and engaging way. There are 4 exercises. The first exercise requires pupils to unscramble 19 regular verbs using the English translation to help. The second exercise requires pupils to put 10 verbs (regular and irregular) into the correct verb form. There is an opportunity to translate the sentences as well. The third exercise includes 21 irregular verbs to be conjugated into different forms of the present tense. The fourth exercise requires pupils to solve the English clues (17 irregular French verbs) to complete the crossword. These are excellent resources to consolidate and review pupils’ knowledge of the present tense.

This is an excellent resource pack to introduce vocabulary and to use the vocabulary in context. There is an authentic reading comprehension on the planned Halloween celebrations in Disneyland Paris. There are 8 comprehension questions and 13 phrases to find in the text to demonstrate understanding. Also included is an extended writing frame for pupils to write a Halloween story. This has time expressions, adverbs, connectives, Halloween vocab, weather expressions, intensifiers, family and friends and expressions in the imperfect to describe the scene. This is excellent for creative writing and improving exam skills. There is a colour and black and white version. A word cloud is also included along with a set of dominoes. There are 3 word searches; a longer version whereby pupils find 20 Halloween words, there is a second version where the pupils translate the English to French, then find the French. The shorter version pupils find 9 Halloween words. Using these resources there are lots of opportunities for differentiation and they can be used with a range of classes. They are also easy to edit or print.

Within this resource pack is a reading comprehension taken from an authentic source. The passage explains the history of EDL, the aims of EDL and the benefits of the celebrations. Pupils answer questions on the passage and find vocabulary expressions to demonstrate understanding. Also included is a word cloud whereby pupils need to find 31 expressions. This is an excellent activity to complete in conjunction with the third resource, the writing and speaking frame, whereby pupils use the language from the frame and the word cloud to either speak or write about the importance of learning a language. The resources are easy to print and can be used for classwork, homework or cover work.

A great resource to consolidate grammar terms. There is a teacher PPT which defines; nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, synonyms, intensifiers, quantifiers, superlatives and comparatives. The teacher can print slide 6 and produce a card sort whereby students match up definitions to explanations. Pupils then provide examples in their own language. There are modelled examples on the PPT if required. There is then an exercise where pupils explain the terms to each other to demonstrate understanding. They then complete a worksheet in French to demonstrate understanding whereby they categorise 26 words. The solution is provided on the teacher PPT and pupils are encouraged to use the dictionary. There is more emphasis on grammar awareness for pupils to work more independently and this resource is a great facet to improve understanding and consolidate key grammar knowledge.

This is an ideal first lesson. The teacher PPT contains a wall of knowledge whereby pupils can share any German phrases they may know already. Classroom expectations and key topics to be taught in the academic year are also shared with pupils. This is easy to edit to suit your own behaviour for learning expectations and SOW. There are several slides to introduce vocabulary for introducing yourself, greeting people and saying how you are feeling. There is a song to the tune of "nice one Cyril" pupils sing the song and pass an object around. When the verse ends the pupils with the object introduces themselves. There is a scale for pupils to use as a modelled example to tell each other how they are feeling. To consolidate learning there is a reading gap-fill of the phrases that have been introduced. The solution is provided. There is also a plenary to match the pairs.

Most of the questions are appropriate for the FLA to ask to the pupils then. It is a great ice-breaker.
