At Home Colour Cut and Sorting Cards is a flexible EYFS and KS1 resource designed to support early categorising, speaking, and thinking skills.
Across 10 pages with 12 simple, child-friendly pictures on each page, children colour the household items, cut them out, and sort them into groups such as electrical items, clothing, kitchen items, garden objects, toys, and more.
Some pages include miscellaneous household items (for example an ironing board, dustbin and oven glove), encouraging children to think more deeply about how items are used and where they belong.
These open-ended cards promote discussion, problem-solving, and reasoning, as children can link items by room, purpose, material, or daily routines.
Once cut out, the cards can also be shared between children to create new sets together, supporting collaboration, language development, and imaginative thinking.
Ideal for independent work, small groups, continuous provision, or SEND support, this resource combines fine motor practice with meaningful talk and real-life learning.
