EDL, European Day of Languages, Language Awareness, Mother Tongue Day - Oak Tree Project Activity: ‘Grow an Oak Tree’ as a result of this wonderfully rewarding project. Each student illustrates their links with other languages in order to contribute an oak leaf. This project is ideally run as whole school initiative although it can also be completed as part of Language Awareness lessons in Modern Languages or PSHE classes.

Included in this pack:
• suggestions for completion of this project
• PowerPoint Presentation to introduce this project to your school
• A4/letter format template sheet with explanations for students

Simple: The following 4 documents need adapting to your school and event. READ THEM CAREFULLY to find the ‘SPACE FOR SCHOOL LOGO’ and ‘SCHOOL NAME or EVENT NAME currently shown in brackets’. You will need to REMOVE THE BRACKETS and ADAPT THE WORDING.
• A3/tabloid format poster on how to fit this in with your school ethos of cultural awareness
• A3/tabloid format poster on Learning Outcomes
• A3/tabloid format poster on The History of Oak Trees
• A3/tabloid format poster ‘heading’ and ‘all leaves were contributed by students of <this school>’
