The worksheet is divided into 3 columns.
The first column contains the price of the item.
The second column shows the coins the customer uses to pay for the item but unfortunately it is not enough.

The problem is in two parts: -

  1. Add up the total amount of the coins and write it in the blank box.
  2. Find out how much the customer is short by, i.e. how much more he/she has to pay and then fill in the box.

The space above the box in the third column is for the student to show their workings out.

Skills required: addition, subtraction, counting on/back.

Provide hundred charts, number lines, coins, small objects for the students.

File Type: Word and PDF.
