Present subjunctive v Infinitive easy intro practice (Spanish)
This practice can be used when students are first leaning when to use the infinitive v present subjunctive.
Part 1: Sentences with infinitives
Translate each sentence into Spanish using the present tense and the infinitive (-ar, -er, -ir) with additional information, as needed.
*Students will translate 9 short sentences.
Example: I want to eat.
*A list of infinitives is provided with their English translation for students to use while translating the sentences.
Part 2: Sentences with present subjunctive
Translate each sentence into Spanish using the present tense and the present subjunctive.
*Students will translate 6 sentences.
*A structured template is provided.
*A table with present subjunctive verb endings is included.
Example:
- I want you (tú) to eat a pizza.
Template: Subject 1 + Conjugation of querer (e-ie) Present tense + que + Subject 2 + Conjugation of comer (Present subjunctive) + Rest
