Originally designed for use in personal tuition, these lessons are easily adaptable for use in the classroom.

Within this lesson pupils will be expected to describe the location of Australia, the states and territories of Australia, the population, life expectancy and literacy rates and the weather experienced in Australia, subsequently allowing for a complete understanding to be developed. *The full scheme of five lessons and scheme of work on the Australian Bushfires is also available.

This lesson, originally developed as part of a scheme of work around the 2019/2020 Australian Bushfires focuses on the impacts of the fires. Within the lesson pupils are expected to recall information relating to the causes of wildfires, before then embarking on a Geographical Enquiry (research led) activity to determine the most severe impacts of the fires. Following this, pupils will then further be expected to complete a decision making exercise whereby they should determine the most and least significant impact of the 2019/2020 Australian Bushfires. *The full scheme of work consisting of five lessons is also available.

This lesson, developed as part of a scheme of work around the 2019/2020 Australian Bushfires is examining the response to the fires on a local, national and global level. Within this lesson pupils are expected to gain an understanding of the differences between local, national, and global responses before creating a news article around the response, on all three levels to the fires. Following this, pupils are then expected to complete ashort decision making exercise in order to determine which response was most effective in aiding the Bushfire recovery. *The full scheme of work encompassing five lessons is also available.

This resource links to the OCR GCSE Geography specification regarding required knowledge around The Arctic Council including member countries and aims. Although standalone in this case, the resource does link with a wider lesson on The Arctic Council and The Antarctic Treaty also available.

This pair of resources covers the required content on sustainable tourism in Svalbard, as part of the requirements of the OCR GCSE Geography course. Made up of an A3 worksheet and information sheets students should work in groups to determine how they would solve the different issues facing Svalbard before completing an activity using the information sheets to find out what is actually happening to address the issues in Svalbard.
