Most young people struggle to understand how to create pie charts and so this simple presentation breaks down the steps for learners to practice completing the calculations in order to know and understand the process to work out how many degrees a section of a pie chart should take.

For learners to identify the different types of text that they can come across, each type of text has questions on the bottom for learners to answer. This resource also enables learners to identify the key features of text that shows what type of text they are including headlines, links, as well as the language that can be used. This worksheet can be used to challenge higher level learners as you are able to add additional questions to these, getting them to highlight parts of the text and use the correct terminology for these so if there are any lists of three etc. Really effective worksheet!

Two activities provided one for higher level learners and one for lower level learners to understand how instructions should be laid out and how to predict the order it should go in. All you have to do is print and cut up for learners to then put the instructions in the correct order. This activity works really well for all learners and can be followed on with a task of writing their own instructions for either a hobby they do, a recipe they know how to make or even how to build something.
