Mental Health Assembly for students in KS3/4/5.

This lesson educates students on the BLM movement and its origins. The lesson includes a variety of activities which focus on the causes of the movement, its aims, how the media presents it and asks students to think of possible solutions for the racial discrimination that exists today. I taught this lesson to both my KS3 and 4 classes and they seemed to have enjoyed and benefited from the lesson. Any feedback is welcomed! Do not forget to rate the resource too please.

A free resource for students - can be used at the start of the year (for students to get to know each other and work in pairs to answer) or at the end of term.

This free resource could either be a lesson/ assembly on women and their perceptions and treatment. The PPT is mostly focused on having a debate and addressing controversial opinions/ sensitive issues. I taught this lesson to both Year 11 and 6th formers (14-16) and it was great at challenging mindsets and making students aware of issues women face.

A worksheet for students to complete for their teachers. Had all the children complete this and it made the teachers all exceptionally happy!

Students are able to learn factual information about the queen, analysing different views on the monarchy and using this to formulate their own opinion.

An outstanding introductory lesson on Macbeth which covers: GCSE Exam requirements/objectives, chronological ordering task, detailed quote analysis (both as a class and independent student work), recapping context, key vocabulary for language analysis, analytical writing and homework. A lesson explaining Black History Month in Britain and it’s importance. The lesson looks at key figures, and uses both videos, activities and news articles to help students understand the importance of Black History Month. This lesson can be used for an assembly.

CPD focused on effective pedagogy for both PGCE, NQT and experienced teachers. The lesson covers: pedagogical approaches, reflective teaching, analysing essays on effective pedagogy and implementing techniques in each department’s teaching/curriculum.

A lesson on Francis Walsingham (from my wider Early Elizabethan SOW). This is an interactive lesson for students on Walsingham and has a mixture of activities including games, note-taking, videos, stories, exam practice etc.

This lesson is designed to support students with writing a persuasive non-fiction piece on including more people with disabilities. It looks at both a TED TALK video and a article to help students construct an argument and then present it at the end of the lesson.

This is an assembly delivered to secondary school students on the important of news: both reading the news and fact checking before sharing stories.

A good resource for KS3/4/5 students to help them understand the importance of income and expenditure and the value of money. The lesson focuses on identifying items that are needs and wants and the factors which influence spending. It also has an activity to get students started on budget planning.

A great and informative PPT to support teachers/relevant staff with SEND. This CPD covers: SEND Code of Practice, common learning difficulties, Strategies, Assessment and Case Studies. It has tasks for teachers to complete to support their understanding and help influence their action.

A lesson on the Atlantic Slave Trade covering: causes, stages and consequences. The lesson has different activities and covers both primary and secondary sources. This lesson was made for KS3 students but can be adapted for any year group.
