A complete lesson covering specification section 4.2.4 b of the OCR A level chemistry the link between infrared radiation and global warming. It covers how certain bonds absorb IR radiation and then vibrate more, effectively trapping heat. It explains the difference between the green house effect and global warming. It also looks at some of the ways we are making the problem worse as well as the possible effects. In revision it also includes the role of HFCs and HCFCs.
The lesson includes a starter, full notes, various student activities and a differentiated summary at the end.
