The worksheets use questions that are based on the SATs SPaG papers, plus a few extras. The activities are perfect for group work and prepare your class for SATs in a more interactive way. The slideshow can be used for fillers, starters or plenaries. You can also put the three together to make 30 minute lessons on these tricky topics! A collection of 3 practice SATs SPaG papers for year 6. All three papers are based on a past SPaG paper 1. Each practice paper contains 50 questions focussing on a range of punctuation and grammar. Answers are also included. This includes tenses, sentence types, semi-colons, colons, brackets, hyphens, commas, subordinate clauses, prefixes, word classes, apostrophes, pronouns, synonyms and antonyms. The questions are formatted in the same way as the SATs papers, so the children are asked to circle, tick, fill in the missing gap and write full sentences. There are a range of ‘what,’ ‘how,’ ‘who’ and ‘why’ questions, some multiple choice tick questions and some that require more detailed answers. The activity is also laid out in a similar way to the SATs booklets, with four pages of pictures and short written extracts to read and 3-4 questions per page. Answers are also included. It involves children learning about tourist sites around Paris and how to describe in French places they would like to visit e.g I would like to visit the Eiffel Tower. This resource includes an assembly plan and 19 slide PowerPoint to use for Women's History Month or International Women's Day on 8th March. No further preparation needed. The assembly is suitable to use with KS2 or secondary aged children. The slideshow provides the opportunity to discuss why we might focus on women's history, before moving on to give details on how women's circumstances changed from ancient times to today. There are 10 slides which outline key achievements of 10 different women, from Marie Curie to J K Rowling. The plan (pdf) gives details about how to use the slideshow. This resource contains 3 comprehension activities suitable for using with year 1. The theme in this pack is spring. The three topics are: What can I do in the spring? What happens in the spring? Spring animals Each comprehension contains a short piece of text (about 5 sentences) with words that can be sounded out. There are three trickier words which have pictures to help children work out what they say. The text is followed by 5 questions, containing ‘what’ ‘who’ and ‘when’ questions and some multiple choice questions. There is also a powerpoint included in the pack containing a slide for each text so that you can go through the comprehensions before the children complete them. This resource is a set of 5 Art lessons based around the theme of the sea, oceans and water for KS1. The key skills that are taught include creating different tones and shades with paint and pencil, using shapes, patterns and lines and experimenting with different materials. There are 3 different artists used as inspiration, all of whom have painted the sea or water using very different techniques. The children have the opportunity to work alone for 4 lessons and part of a collaborative group project for the final lesson. They have lots of opportunity to choose what materials they work with. The 15 page pdf lesson plans are very detailed and include a list of any resources you will need to get out of the cupboard. There are also details of curriculum links and examples of work from my classes. I have included the simple 7 slide PowerPoint I used for the series of lessons, which contains examples of the artists’ work around which the lessons are based. I hope you enjoy the lessons!
