Hello All, Within this resource you will be able to access a practical Pantomime SoL with: 1 x SoL 7 x Fully prepared PowerPoint lessons 2 x Assessment task and feedback sheet All handouts that go with the lessons. Within this SoL, Students will develop their use of physical and vocal skills and start to apply them to the style of Pantomime. They will focus on communicating with the audience stylistically through audience participation, learn how to communicate meaning through devising and learn how to work effectively in groups. The main focus for this scheme of learning will be on devloping their devising skills and understanding of how to evalaute live theatre. In this unit, students will learn about Africa, African Theatre and three key chosen African Myths and Legends from countries within the continent. Students will learn how to use both key rehearsal techniques and performance skills (physical and vocal) to ensure that their audience obtains their overall intent. Students will learn techniques for remembering their blocking and their lines and will learn how to give constructive feedback and evaluate their own performance in practice. This scheme of learning has been designed to prepare students for the Scripted Performances unit of GCSE Drama. Students will focus on developing their physical and vocal acting skills in the correct performance style, interpreting a character and being able to communicate that to the audience without getting “Stuck in the script” and also eliciting the expectation of learning lines for a performance so that doesn’t come as a surprise during KS4. They will also understand the importance of historical / social context when preparing a performance and the influence that has on style.
