The writing activity asks pupils to write five sentences based on the listenign exercise and the construct ‘Sur ma pizza, je veux…’ NB: Good exercises for the use of vouloir. The oral activity is again based on the listening exercise, pupils pair up and one describes their pizza while the other draws it - EYES SHUT! There is an MS Word document of the worksheets mentioned in the PowerPoint, which are all half A4 size, making this kit more economical and photocopy friendly. Four of the reading exercises are worksheets using the food vocabulary learnt, ideal for starters or plenaries. The fifth is a word cloud which can be used as a fantastic revision activity, they are extremely versatile! I created the resources for use with a lower Year 9 class but these exercises can be done by any year learning the vocab. Where possible I have included ideas for differentiation and extension. Update: slight changes in sizing for better ease of use. A hands-on resource for learning your present tense verb conjugations. This resource is focussed on ‘er’ verbs but the file is editable. Cut along the lines in the three boxes and weave the verb strips through each one. With the colour coded aid, your students will be able to construct the present tense. Feel free to edit the verbs given to suit your purposes.

Save yourself some time! This download includes a 13 slides Powerpoint presentation with three games centered on revising food vocabulary in French. These are speaking, listening and reading games, aimed at helping your pupils improve their confidence in a fun and competitive environment. French Tabou: This game is a fun and creative way to get pupils speaking French. With modification it can be used for both beginner and advanced pupils. Beginners can use the taboo words to help them explain the key word, advanced pupils must explain the key word WITHOUT using the taboo words on the card underneath it. Great for laminating and can be used without needing any prep! Object of the game: Pupils are split into small groups. Pupils must try and get their teammates to guess the word at the top of a card. They can give clues, but can't use any of the taboo words underneath it. Teams score points for each word guessed successfully. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. Follow Me Cards - great starter activity! Game involves 30 cards and all need to be used to work, if you have less than 30 in your class give the stronger pupils more than one. Hand each pupil a card as they enter the classroom. All stand, the pupil with ‘Qui a de frites?’ goes first and reads their card out loud. The pupil with the card which says ‘I have some chips” speaks this out loud and then says their French sentence and so on. Tarsia Activity - Great starter! Cut out the triangle, muddle up the pieces and ask pupils to match up the English to the French. Can be used for individual, pair and group. This is a game for use with KS3 French, I used this with year 9 as a Starter activity and it went down really well. Covers the topic of job roles and use of the modal verb 'vouloir'. Also makes reference to spelling changes with gender. Prepared in conjunction with Studio 3 Rouge, Module 3 ‘À l’horizon’ pg 55. Prepared with a class size of 32 in mind but can easily be modified to any class size by altering number of slides in use. The Simpsons are a brilliant tool to use when exploring job roles as there is a character for most job types in Springfield, and of course it's very well known! Includes bonus slides on Sylvain Chomet and the special Sofa Gag he did for the Simpsons to tie in with French culture!
