This resource is suitable for all three GCSE exam boards and for both the old and new specifications. It consists of six QR codes that the students scan using a QR scanner, which takes them directly to six videos showing slow motion footage of the following activities:
Jump shot in basketball
A shot in football
The set in volleyball
A hurdler
The high jump
A Back somersault
Students then study the footage and record down two muscles that they think are in action, and then they have to describe what movement is occurring at a joint as the muscle contracts.
New, for the 2016 OCR specification, this is a 28 mark end of unit test for section 2.1a (Engagement patterns of different social groups in physical activities and sports). It includes questions from past papers that are still relevant, as well as new questions. It contains a range of questions styles. There is a section at the end for peer and staff feedback.
