Year 2/3. 12 lesson n\f plan based on the book Here We Are by Oliver Jeffers. Plan looks at poetry, writing a set of rules and ends with a letter to planet earth. The Winter’s Child by Angela McAllister-15 session Fiction Plan- Year 2. Plan includes short burst writes as well as end of unit extended diary entry write. Year 2/3 three week fiction plan using Varmints by Helen Ward and Marc Craste. There is also a short film available (link included) that relates to the book. Planning is written using the Year 2 and Year 3 writing milestones- relating to the National Curriculum. Unit includes skill based grammar lessons, spelling lesson, short burst writes, planning and end of unit story with time for editing. Children will innovate their own short story by the end of the unit.

Three week writing unit- fiction for Y2/3 based on the book The Last Tree by Emily Haworth-Booth. The book is about a village that cut all the trees down for wood but soon see that trees give us so much more! Lessons include skill lessons- direct speech, expanded noun phrases; lessons about the books- characters feelings, setting descriptions and leads to an end of unit write (story). As well as that there is a suggested launch activity to excite learners! All lessons use the National Curriculum milestones and Age-Related-Expectations.

3 week narrative plan and resources using the story Traction Man by Mini Grey. Year 1 and Year 2. Included short burst writes, grammar and end of unit write. Follows the talk for writing sequence of lessons. Talk for writing (child friendly) included. All resources needed to teach lessons included.

Resources include: Talk 4 writing short story for children to learn and rehearse, 2 x story maps, differentiated story map planning templates, word banks, modeled writes ( incl. rocket description), Instructions modeled write instructions- Making Bob’s Lunch and Making an Alien Monster for children to identify features.

3 week poetry planning unit (Year 2/3) based on The Owl & the Pussycat by Edward Lear. Bundle also includes worksheets that can be used throughout the unit.

Four creative writing lessons for Year 2-3 based on a group of elves being homeless after the Christmas rush! Write directions, persuasive adverts and a letter of reply. Lessons require children to make new “homes” for the elves.

Two week non-fiction unit building up to writing a set of instructions. Exploring the text type, grammar and short burst writes implemented into the plan. Planned for a year mixed 2 (all abilities) / 3 (LA) Class.
