Medium Term Plan for Year 2/3 to make passport pouches. Plan follows a research- design- make- test and evaluate sequence making 4 long lessons. Key Learning Intentions for DT textiles for Year 2/3 covered.

Cross Curricular topic web based on the theme- Around the World

DT Mechanism Plans based around levers, gears and pullys. Plans use Mrs Artmiatge by Quentin Blake as a stimulus. Mainly KS1 with elements for Year 3. Four long sessions including Technical Knowledge, Design, Make and Evaluate. Learning Objectives relating to the Key Learning Intentions for Primary DT. Bundle also includes worksheets that can be used throughout the unit.

Primary Science- Everyday Materials. 6 sessions. Bundle includes 6 lesson plans and corresponding worksheets. Unit uses Mrs Armitage by Quentin Blake as a stimulus. Plans cover identify materials, making predictions and observing closely. As well as preforming simple test and comparing materials to solve a problem.

Four creative writing lessons for Year 2-3 based on a group of elves being homeless after the Christmas rush! Write directions, persuasive adverts and a letter of reply. Lessons require children to make new “homes” for the elves.

Based on Little Hippo by Anja Klauss and Geraldine Elschner (leading on from 3 week fiction unit) a two week non-fiction writing unit for Year 2/3. Plans use year 2/3 writing milestones. The unit includes grammar/punctuation , short burst writing lessons and an end of unit non-chron report.

Year 2/3. 15 lesson fiction plan based on the book The Lost Happy Endings by Carol Ann Duffy and Jane Ray. Plan includes short burst writes and skill based lessons leading up to writing a story as the end of unit write . Skills taught and covered from the year 2 and 3 curriculum and milestones.

Year 1/ 2 three week fiction plan for Dear Zoo by Rob Campbell. The plan uses the T4W structure. The first week explores vocabulary and introduces the story, the second week includes grammar and the third supports children to plan and write a story. There are several writing opportunities that leads to an end of unit write. Resources also available to accompany this planning unit. The resources are FREE as I did not make them all.

Year 2/3 three week fiction plan using Varmints by Helen Ward and Marc Craste. There is also a short film available (link included) that relates to the book. Planning is written using the Year 2 and Year 3 writing milestones- relating to the National Curriculum. Unit includes skill based grammar lessons, spelling lesson, short burst writes, planning and end of unit story with time for editing. Children will innovate their own short story by the end of the unit.

2-week- non-fiction writing plan for year 2 and 3 all about chocolate. This leads on from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 3 week fiction unit. Plan includes skilled grammar lessons, short burst writes and an end of unit non-fiction big write. Planned against the Year 2 and Year 3 age-related-expectations and milestones.
