This is a 15-20 minute assembly, PSHE or tutor time session covering what the Prevent strategy is. It includes some videos and discussion points around Prevent and information about how to spot signs of radicalisation. This was originally delivered to KS3 and KS4 but could also be suitable for KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13). There are no written tasks in this presentation, it is an overview of these topics in line with the PSHE and Citizenship curriculum, SMSC and Fundamental British Values. It could also be used in an assembly or whole school setting as a quick reminder of Prevent and Radicalisation. It can be lengthened or shortened depending on the timing of the session. The videos are downloaded so will never disappear. Students reacted well to this session and some important and interesting discussions were had.

This is a comprehensive list of hundreds of relevant awareness days for a primary or secondary school. It maps the entire academic year and includes over 400 different dates and days. This is useful for pastoral leaders, PSHE leads, SLT or anyone that is putting together an assembly rota, bulletin, calendar or diary for the academic year starting September 2022. It includes cultural, religious, personal, health and social awareness days and has been triple checked for accuracy. I have pulled together all of the dates so you won’t find a more comprehensive diary anywhere. This will be a document that is updated as more dates are added next year or there are any changes. It brings together all of the useful special days for schools to focus on as part of their PSHE, Citizenship, Fundamental British Values, SMSC, Healthy Schools, Character Education, Finance Education, Religious Education and whole school ethos. All of the proceeds of this resource will be given to Save the Children for Ukrainian refugees. This is a 10-15 minute assembly or tutor time PSHE or Safeguarding session which is fully narrated and designed for KS3, KS4 & KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13). It outlines: What peer on peer abuse / child to child abuse is Why stopping it is so important How students can access help and support The 9 protected characteristics of the Equality Act How peer on peer / child to child abuse affects someone Signs of a negative relationship Pupil code of conduct How pupils can show positivity at school and form positive relationships Definition of peer pressure and the need to create an equal community There are discussion questions and quotes to aid discussion and these can be turned into written activities if you want to make this session last a whole lesson. There are two downloaded video clips that will never disappear and it is narrated although you can delete this by just deleting the icon on each slide if you would prefer. This session contributes to ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ and the new Relationships & Sexual Education and Health Education. It also highlights safeguarding, British values and can be used as part of the PSHE curriculum. It can easily be adapted if needed but covers all the necessary guidance. Pupils have responded very well to this presentation in the past and I have updated it for this year.

This is a 15-20 minute assembly about positive language. It covers the important topic of being positive, watching what language we use to communicate to others and using positive language online. It was used as an assembly for KS3, KS4 & KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13, Grades 6-12). It covers: Why it is so important to show positive language in school The power of words Important quotes and two downloaded videos that will never disappear How we can show positive language What situations we need to show positive language How we can support cyberbullying Code of conduct Reflection slide with thinking questions and positive quotes There is a slide for you to add your Pupil Code of Conduct or behaviour policy or you can delete this slide if you prefer. The session is all narrated but this can easily be changed by deleting the icon on each slide. This is a 15 minute assembly about positive relationships. It can be used as part of tutor time, a whole school assembly for 11-18 year olds or as part of a lesson or on an online learning platform. This can be used for PSHE, Citizenship, SMSC, Tutor Time, Assemblies, Whole School days, Online Platforms and teaches the students how to have positive relationships in their lives. It talks about prejudice, discrimination, bullying and aims to teach students how to have positive relationships. Students responded really well to this whole school assembly.

This is a 10-20 minute assembly about the importance of sleep suitable for KS3-KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13). It contains two short video clips that are downloaded so they will never disappear. This session covers: Why sleep is important What sleep deprivation is What happens to your brain and body if you don’t have enough sleep How much sleep a teenager needs How could a lack of sleep affect you at school NHS tips on how to get a good night’s sleep A true and false quiz to check learning and understanding. This fits into the new Relationships and Health Education curriculum and can be easily lengthened to last for a whole lesson if needed. There are discussion tasks and videos to watch and a plenary task. Students reacted very positively to this session. It was originally a Year 7 tutor time PSHE session but can be used for any secondary school year group as an assembly.

This is a fully resourced lesson about how Martin Luther King’s Christian beliefs influenced his actions. It has an excellent starter sheet, carousel activity, discussion tasks, written tasks and an interactive plenary. It goes through the influence of the Bible, group prayer, being a pastor, non-violent protest & Jesus. It includes information on Civil Rights but its focus is on Martin Luther King’s Christian faith. This pack includes everything you need for this lesson which has been graded Outstanding by Ofsted and included in a Summary report for a secondary school. It has a full lesson plan, differentiated questions, a powerpoint, worksheets and an interactive powerpoint plenary. This plenary can also be adapted and used for other lessons. Buy this and have one lesson for Ofsted totally planned and resourced for you. This lesson is suitable for KS2, KS3 or KS4 (Ages 7-16). It was originally a 60 minute year 8 lesson but can easily last 90 minutes or it can be shortened if needed.

This is a 10-15 minute assembly on racism. It is suitable for KS3-KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13) and covers the following: What is racism How can we contribute to make an equal society A story from Shola Richards about his life & discussion points Two downloaded videos that will never disappear about whether Britain is racist and the report that showed racism remains entrenched in Britain Thinking and discussion tasks There are no written tasks but these could easily be added or adapted to cover a whole lesson on this important topic. It was originally a Year 7 PSHE tutor time session but can be used as part of the Citizenship, Character Education, Relationships Education and addresses the Safeguarding guidance.

This is a 10-15 minute assembly about the important issue of anti-social behaviour. It is suitable for a whole school assembly for KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13) and was originally used for a tutor time PSHE session for Year 10. It includes discussion activities which could be lengthened and written for a full lesson. The issues it covers are: What anti-social behaviour is & examples What are the consequences of anti-social behaviour Why it is important to report ASB How students can prevent it in the community How dropping litter is an anti-social act It includes two short video clips which are downloaded so will never disappear. The students reacted very positively to this session. This lesson can last from 60-90 minutes and contains an introduction to the AQA Religious Studies A (8062). It focuses on the Crucifixion of Jesus. This is a 15 minute assembly about exam stress suitable for KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13). It is especially useful in the run up to any periods of assessment or exams. It covers different ways and tips to manage exam stress by three downloaded short video clips that will never disappear! It has some discussion questions but this session could be lengthened by students writing notes and their own revision plan if you needed it to last a whole lesson. It was originally a Year 9 tutor time PSHE session about the importance of looking after student’s mental health in the run up to an assessment period. It fits into the new Relationships & Health Education, the Mental Health agendas, Keeping Children Safe in Education, Careers and Exam Skills and the PSHE Curriculum or it can be used as a whole school resource as an assembly.

This is a 15 minute assembly on Sexism and Gender Inequality. It was originally a tutor time PSHE session for Year 10 but is suitable for KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13. It covers what sexism is and whether it is still an issue in the UK. It includes three short downloaded video clips that will never disappear! It covers sexism in the workplace, what feminism is and some statistics about sexism in the UK. It has discussion activities and no written tasks. It could easily be lengthened to a whole lesson with longer debates and written activities. This fits into the new RSHE curriculum, the PSHE curriculum and works towards addressing sexual harassment and inequality in society.

This is a 10-15 minute assembly about National Careers Week 2022. It can easily be lengthened to last a whole lesson because of the links on the last slide for further activities. It is suitable for the whole school (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13, KS3-KS4-KS5) and is a useful way to advertise careers education in your school and give students the necessary links to research further. It includes: What National Careers Week is The Theme this year What Careers Advice is What should we be doing now to help our future career prospects A downloaded and clipped video from National Careers Week about Hope (which will never disappear) A page of important links for further research and activities This fits well into the Gatsby Benchmarks, CEIAG, PSHE and Citizenship curriculms or as a whole school focus.

This is a PowerPoint covering the different types of Sewa with special emphasis on Langar. It includes logos, discussion tasks, written tasks and has no worksheets. It was originally planned as a 90 minute lesson for Year 7 but can be used for any KS3 or KS4 class and easily adapted for a shorter lesson. There are videos and extension activities for further study.

This is a lesson which centres around the Coercive Control BBC documentary. It was originally a set of 2 x 90 minute Citizenship lessons but can be adapted easily. It includes written activities and discussion points as well as extension tasks, definitions, moral issues and sources of support. It has already engaged lots of students and taught them the law and issues surrounding Coercive Control. It highlights how to spot coercive control and leads to some excellent discussions among KS4 and KS5 students. It is fully narrated although you can easily change this by deleting the icon on each slide if you would prefer it not narrated. It fits into the PSHE and RSE & Health Curriculum and can be used to highlight and learning to spot and stop abusive relationships. It is suitable for KS4-KS5 ( Ages 15-18+, Years 10-13, Grades 10-12).

This is a 10-15 minute narrated assembly about dyslexia. It includes a short downloaded video which will never disappear and defines the condition, how it feels and the benefits of dyslexia looking at famous people with it. It goes through the problems someone with dyslexia has but also focuses on the strengths of having dyslexia. It also shows the students common misconceptions of dyslexia and finishes with an extension video if needed. You can easily delete the icon on each slide if you do not want it narrated. This was originally an assembly for Years 7-13 (Ages 11-18 KS3, KS4 and KS5) but it is also suitable for KS2. It can also be linked with the new RSHE curriculum, the PSHE curriculum or a whole school tutor time resource. There are no written activities in this presentation but it can easily be lengthened if it is needed for a longer lesson.

This is a 15-30 minute tutor time session celebrating deaf awareness week. However, it can also be used for deaf awareness at any time of the year. It is suitable for KS3-KS5 (Years 7-13, Ages 11-18, Grade 6-12). It was originally a Citizenship session for the whole school. It includes dual coding and logos throughout. This presentation was well received by all year groups and many have gone on to learn BSL as a result. It can be shortened or lengthened to be used for a whole lesson. It follows the Relationships, Sex & Health Curriculum introduced in 2020 and explains how students can keep safe. It was delivered to KS3, KS4 and KS5 with excellent feedback. The PowerPoint contains videos, discussion tasks but no written tasks.
