They are in multiple formats so you can adapt or just print from image, PDF or PowerPoint. These tasks range in difficulty but most will take between 15-30 minutes for GCSE students to complete.

These PPTs and DOCs examine the Cannon-Fodder source made famous by the leaders at the Treaty of Versailles. Basic speeches sheets put incorrect phrases into the leaders' mouths. Yes, this could be a fun lesson. After my class tackles a few sources and see what the author was trying to do we move onto the famous Keep Calm Poster. This is planned out in class and the students finish it for homework. The mini-lesson leads you straight to the Keep Calm Task. The lesson could be extended into two lessons if you want to explore propaganda in greater detail.

Lesson can be used for all sorts - I have used it with Titanic in recent years. The five R's is a method used to break down and examine the historical significance of an event or person. Many historians have different variations of this method. The five R's we will use are: Remembered, revealed, remarked, resonates and resulted. The order does not necessarily matter, neither the need to do all five of them.

These questions cover the key topics 1.1 to 3.3 of the new Edexcel GCSE on the American West. Teachers can insert these questions into your lesson slides. They can print them off and use them as starter, recap or plenary activities. They can amend them to meet the needs of their students. I choose the PowerPoint format because you can print different numbers of slides to a page and you can include them in your work.

The PPT presentation is the main resource. The idea is for students to practice their timeline skills and how to extract relevant information from a textbook or PDF. This lesson works best if you have a textbook that the students can use to gather important dates. If needed, you can you the PDFs with dates and important figures. This lesson is a brief overview of the differences between the USA's democratic system and the USSR's communist system. The conference photos and maps are to set the stage for the Iron Curtain. Source analysis or just basic opinion pieces depending on if you what to reach the learning objective in one lesson.
