This powerpoint and accompanying resources is an ideal speaking-practice lesson for KS3 pupils (particularly once they have covered the ‘free time’ topic). Pupils will build vital conversational skills including responding to questions and asking questions. Pupils will practice speaking with their normal partners and will also circulate around the room speaking to people who they don’t usually communicate with - this will help build spoken confidence as pupils are encouraged to talk in Spanish other people. Pupils will also cover how to change and modify verbs from the ‘you’ form into the ‘I’ form - this will help prepare them for the listening and responding process.

This is a fun revision lesson for Year 10 or 11. It consists of a series of activities which aim to recap key GCSE grammar and vocabulary. In order to ‘crack the code’, students must complete 9 activities. Each activity will provide students with a code word. Once all 9 activities are correctly completed, they will have 9 code words from which to form a sentence in Spanish. They will then have to translate this sentence into English to crack the code. Worksheet and accompanying powerpoint included. I did this recently with my Year 10 class and they absolutely loved it!

This booklet could be used in class alongside teacher-led explanations etc or it could be given to students as homework over a period of time. It could also be used as an extra revision resource for students. There is enough content in this booklet (16 pages) to cover a series of lessons. I used this resource with my own Year 11s recently and it has massively improved their Spanish writing skills! :)
