About Moor Park High School and Sixth Form
Situated in the heart of the North West of England, Preston is one of the most networked cities in the country, with excellent motorway and transport links providing easy access to the coastline, Lake District, the Pennines and the larger cultural cities of Manchester and Liverpool.
Moor Park High School and Sixth Form is a small, ambitious and proudly inclusive Foundation School serving a vibrant and diverse community in central Preston. Set beside a beautiful heritage park, our school is deeply rooted in its community and shapes everything we do for the families we serve.
We are a school built on service; to our young people, to their families and to the wider community around us. We hold firm to the principles of pride, gratitude and compassion, knowing that these values nurture the aspiration and inspiration our pupils need to succeed. We are proud to be a school of and for Preston: inclusive, outward‑looking and committed to making a meaningful difference to the lives of the children entrusted to us.
Our inclusive ethos is non‑negotiable. Every child is valued, every child is known, and every child is expected to achieve. We believe that excellence and inclusion go hand in hand: high standards because we care, not despite it.
Staff development remains one of our highest priorities. We are a school that invests in people. Professional learning is not an add‑on here; it is a culture. Colleagues are supported to grow, innovate and lead. We value our staff deeply, their wellbeing, their workload and their professional fulfilment matter to us. Through our Wellbeing Charter, we commit to looking after our people so they can bring their best selves to the children we serve.
Our mission is clear and uncompromising: every child will achieve the very best academic outcomes so that their future choices are widened, not limited. This begins and ends with high‑quality, evidence‑informed teaching. Our teachers are committed to and focused on securing strong progress and high attainment outcomes for every student, regardless of background or starting point. We expect exemplary behaviour because great learning can only flourish in calm, focused and ambitious classrooms.
We offer a broad academic curriculum designed to challenge, stretch and open doors, supported by a rich programme of enrichment that develops confidence, character and curiosity. We believe every child should leave us equipped with the knowledge, skills and qualifications needed to succeed in further study and beyond this to contribute meaningfully to a fair, democratic and socially responsible society.
Above all, we hold high expectations because every child is known. Every child matters. Every child is supported and expected to achieve their very best.

Working on placement for my teacher training at Moor Park High School and Sixth Form has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I have thoroughly enjoyed the dynamic and engaging environment and interacting with pupils, and seeing their progress has been particularly fulfilling. The supportive and collaborative atmosphere amongst staff has been invaluable and I have created strong relationships with all. Overall, this placement has solidified my passion for teaching and has been instrumental in shaping my professional development.
- Miss Hulme, Student TeacherWorking at Moor Park in the MFL faculty for almost two years, has been like gaining five years more of experience, confidence and passion in my personal and professional life. I am constantly inspired by the challenge to provide the best opportunities for all our students, academically and in their holistic well being. A combination of great team work, love for our students and high expectations builds aspiration and allows students to view new parts of the world, experiencing different cultures through their language learning. I look now at our students in year 11 as they begin their GCSE exams and I feel so proud of their efforts, ability to support each other and the willingness to share their knowledge, taking time to achieve their best. This reflects the ethos that our school shares and I feel lucky and privileged to be part of it.
- E Baldi, Former Teacher of SpanishMoor Park English Department has been incredible for my personal and professional development. It is endlessly invigorating and inspiring to work as part of a team driven by research-based practice and motivated by a shared vision of fair opportunity for all of our students - in education and beyond. As part of this department, I feel constantly challenged and excited by the relentless push to improve our students' life chances. I consider this a real privilege; especially given the fact that our department thrives on respectful and friendly relationships, shared planning, pedagogy exchange and (successfully) managed workloads. I feel like this is a supportive place to work and an ideal place to grow.
