Values and vision
Neston High School is committed to tracking its students’ academic progress with half-termly reports, which look at their levels of attainment for each subject. It prides itself on having a strong pastoral system, based around five houses, which help to support, nurture and care for students’ wellbeing. Each house is led by a head of house and a pastoral learning mentor, who look after students over their years in the school.
The secondary school expects the highest standards of behaviour and mutual respect. It believes that self-discipline and a creative approach to learning will help students to fulfil their dreams and ambitions. Teachers recognise that the role of parents is crucial in helping to support students.
“Teachers expect a high level of effort from students and plan their lessons so students have to find out information for themselves and work things out with the minimum of help from teachers. Teaching is especially good in the sixth form. Students behave well in lessons and around school. They feel safe in school. The school helps them to develop good communication skills and follow courses that are well-matched to their talents and ambitions so they are well-prepared for the future.”
