About Prior Park School, Gibraltar
Prior Park School is a mixed, non-selective, Catholic, bi-lingual independent secondary school with sixth form in Gibraltar, serving students from the age of 12-18. The secondary school, situated in Old Town can hold up to 240 students.
Prior Park School follows the English exam system, with pupils studying towards GCSE and A level exams. There is a staff to student ratio of 1:10. Students are taught in English and Spanish.
Values and vision
Prior Park School wants all students to enjoy their time learning in a caring and welcoming Christian community. The secondary school follows the values of consideration, compassion, kindness, service, contribution to others and an openness to God. Pupils are encouraged to fulfil their goals and work to the highest of their ability, resulting in an extensive range of future opportunities. The school wants students to feel valued and to feel inspired to learn, leaving as confident, ambition and motivated individuals. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are organised for all pupils across the year groups to get involved in and gain further experiences outside the classroom, including team building activities like chess, rowing, dance and basketball, along with creative clubs such as choir practice, art, music lessons and language class. Students are encouraged to get involved in helping the local community and are taught of the importance of serving to society as active and caring citizens. The school runs several initiatives for them to practice their service, such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award and a Community Outreach Club.
