About Quinton House School

Quinton House School is a mixed, non-denominational independent all-through school and sixth form for pupils aged two to eighteen. It is located in Northampton, and is part of the Cognita group of schools - a network of 67 schools in Europe, Latin America and South-East Asia.

The school was founded in 1946 and is based in Upton Hall, which can trace its history back to the 12th century. Just after the Second World War it opened as Upton Hall School, before taking its current name in 1966. In 2004, Quinton House was acquired by Cognita Schools.

Values and vision

Quinton House School aims to cultivate a family environment in which the individuality and character of each student can be developed. It  hopes to help all its pupils to achieve their potential, and to promote their moral, social and academic development.

Quinton House School says it wants to “fire imaginations and inspire each pupil, fostering a lifelong love of learning, along their educational journey and into adulthood”. The school places great importance on caring for pupils development and involvement in extra-curricular pursuits in a way that complements their academic achievement. It is “unashamedly ambitious (although not pretentious), striving continually to improve itself, and to enhance its local, national and international reputation”.
