GCSE Spanish - Role play preparation

(1)
This is a lesson I have created for my GCSE students to get familiar with the role play task. To begin with, we look at question words and their translation into English. Then, I explain to them the difference between qué and cuál, which is often confunsing for them. Afterwards, students attempt 5 different role plays on a mix of different topics. This lesson includes a starter, plenary and homework task. The file is a PPT so it is completely editable. All answers and model answers embedded in PPT.

FRENCH VERSION COMING SOON! This clear and thorough workbook will prepare AQA Spanish students for the role play in their GCSE speaking exam. Students often perform badly in the role play due to poor exam strategy and a lack of familiarity with the success criteria. This workbook aims to tackle common errors and misconceptions and provide opportunities to overlearn useful techniques to ensure success on this question. It includes thirty role plays based on past paper questions along with model answers, a self-assessment checklist, and helpful tips and reminders on each page. It begins with a student-friendly breakdown of what is required in this part of the exam, and will allow students to prepare independently and understand how to succeed. It also has two helpful exam mark sheets at the back for informal classroom practice or mock exam feedback.

Astronaut labels for role play in EYFS

A word document of astronaut labels that can be persoanlised for each student. This resource, last updated on 16th July 2024. How I use this resource: Set up a role play area in your classroom based on the topic of ‘Space’. Children can be given the freedom to explore and create their own games using these astronaut labels, to pretend they are going up into space. You could also incorporate these into a lesson input or getting children into groups to act out what they think it would be like to go into NASA and then up into space.

This resource can be used as a lesson on how to prepare for the role play task (foundation and higher tiers) or as a booklet for students to practise as part of the lesson, homework, revision material, etc. The booklet is aimed to focus on how to answer/understand the bullet points and think about what the examiner could ask for each of them. It also contains information about the role play task for Edexcel. I have not created/designed the role plays. I have put together some of the foundation and higher role plays from the Edexcel VIVA textbook and some from past papers/sample assessments, etc. They are organised by theme.
