2024 Summer End of Term Quiz

(0)
Welcome! Here is this year’s End of Term Summer quiz with all new questions for 2024, to provide you and your students with a little bit of fun. This quiz was built using Genially rather than PPoint which has always has compatability issues. Genially just needs an internet browser :-) It can also be updated without me re-uploading and you re-downloading! The quiz is 8 rounds totalling 80 marks: Picture round (with optional timer) Monthly Roundup Music General Knowledge Movies Subjects (2 Maths, 2 English, 3 Science, 1 Geography, 1 History, 1 Environment) True or False The quiz is aimed at the full range of Secondary School students. It should keep you busy for about one hour depending on your pace (and the class). Printable sheet for students to fill in answers is included. Keep an eye out for offers, I will do an early bird offer to give you the opportunity to buy at the lowest price TES will allow. Have fun, please review if you like it and feel free to contact me with any problems. NB all images used are from Pixabay & free to use.

European Day of Languages quiz

(2)
This resource is a 30 question European Day of Languages quiz created on Microsoft Powerpoint suitable for KS3 and KS4 secondary students. Celebrate European Day of Languages on 26th September with your classes or tutor groups with this 30 question quiz themed around the event complete with answers. There are 30 questions in this quiz varying from multiple choice general knowledge, True/False statements, multiple choice flags and matching the greetings with the correct language. The answers are then to be shared as a class by going through each question (ensure you are in present mode for the correct answer to colour green) for students to peer or self mark. *Additionally, answers are in the notes section on each slide. * I would recommend for this quiz students get into groups of no more than 4 and the activity should take no longer than 20 minutes to complete. Please keep an eye out for my weekly tutor time quizzes which are 20 question quizzes created in a similar fashion and review/leave feedback if possible. All about me foldable activity for back to school first week

(1)
Get to know your class with this no-prep, all about me activity. This foldable printable is ideal for back-to-school or for an ‘about me’ topic and is a fun alternative to a standard worksheet. Print the template on white paper. There are 4 designs to choose from, each with the same prompts (please note that the templates are not editable). Pupils will need coloured pencils, a pen and scissors. Firstly, pupils will colour the top and bottom of the template. They can then fill in the boxes with words and pictures. The information they’ll need to complete is as follows: Name Age Left/right handed A place I’d like to visit is 3 words to describe me Things that make me smile I want to learn more about If I were an animal I’d be Something important to me Encourage lots of discussions! When the foldable is closed, it will spell ME. It can then be gently opened to reveal the detail inside. A picture showing how to fold is included, as well as versions of the templates for both US and UK paper sizes. Here are some other All About Me resources you might like: Self portrait all about me Space themed all about me Dinosaur themed all about me Pencil All About Me Craft

Round Two: Actor Anagrams Round Three: Odd One Out Round Four: Name the Summer Song Round Five: Multiple Choice Round Six: Name the Object Round Seven: Rank and File Round Eight: First and Last Round Nine: Name the Number Round Ten: Celebrity Pseudonyms Tie breakers Some rounds have ten questions, some with five depending on the difficulty and level of interest. Students work through a highly visual PowerPoint answering questions in each round. The animations in the PowerPoint allow you to create interest and allow students time to answer questions. Examples of the Actor Anagram, Odd One Out, Name the Object, Rank and File, Name the Number and Celebrity Pseudonyms rounds are included to make instructions clear and accessible. Once the quiz has been completed, students mark the answers of the other teams. Marking the responses can create further discussion. Questions are appropriate to a secondary school and college aged student. The nine rounds of questions last for between 50 minutes and 1 hour (depending on how much time you give students to answer the questions). Round Two (Actor Anagrams), Round Three (Odd One Out), Round Four (Name the Summer Song) and Round Ten (Name the Number) could take longer for students to answer. You could give students up to five minutes per question. Alternatively, the quiz could be moved through reasonably briskly. Working through the answers takes between 15 and 20 minutes. You can slow the progress down or speed it up depending on your group or lessons. Whole quiz time: 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes. The PowerPoint can be edited and adapted allowing you to change any questions to suit your students. Try out the free end of term quiz.
