This is a step by step guide for an adult delivering a handwriting intervention to pupils in KS2. If you use a different font at your school then you can easily edit this on the word versions of each document, by highlighting the words and selecting your own school's font on your computer. This resource is aimed at pupils in KS2 who are not forming letters correctly and/or who are not joining letters correctly. This resource should be seen as a revision of existing knowledge and is not intended to be used at KS1. The resource has four pages: 1. Instructions 2. Progression through a set of individual words 3. Progression through writing whole sentences 4. A sheet for the adult to record the child's initial errors, dates and duration of sessions as well as the impact of the intervention.

A booklet of activities that practice handwriting patterns. I have adapted this resource to suit my and my learner's needs. I have used this in my role as an LSA and pupils seem to enjoy the activity of looking at different handwriting patterns. I also using Morrell's handwriting books to support the handwriting sessions I with KS3 and KS4 learners.

I have created this based upon the tortoise letters, giraffe letters and monkey letters idea. Each has it's own section. Hope it is of some use. My kiddies love it. xccw joined is the name of the font this has been created in as used in our school. Practicing penmanship! Each of the 44 lessons in this unit are designed so students can learn useful information while practicing good cursive handwriting and improving near-point copying skills. The workbook pages have been sequentially arranged by difficulty – beginning with one-sentence copying activities and ending with 50-word paragraph copying. Each exercise boasts a different topic, from “famous quotes” and “inventions” to “manners” and “nutrition.” Research suggests that writing information in addition to reading the information improves the chances that the information will be understood and remembered. 52 pages.

Helping to practise letter formation using Nelson font. Every letter has its own page with big colourful letters that can be written over or traced with their fingers to help with formation, then each letter in dotted font in upper and lower case, and then a lower and upper case letter on handwriting lines. There is also a page at the back to learn how to write numbers. This resource has been designed to be laminated and written over in whiteboard pen and will help children practise their letter formation ready for joining.
