Bubble writing - cursive handwriting scaffold Like many primary school teachers I have tried a variety of handwriting schemes with varying degrees of success. Having thought through many common problems with handwriting I have developed a simple scaffold that places a bubble either side of the line to support letter formation. Printables for each of the Read Write Inc Set 2 sounds with opportunities for overwriting and free writing. These could be placed within a plastic wallet for use with wipe clean markers to create reusable resources.

A great resource for helping students to learn the correct letter formation using RWI pictures for each letter of the alphabet. These sheets are great for practicing letter formation. They can be used as homework or in the classroom to help your students form letters correctly.

A booklet of activities that practice handwriting patterns. I have adapted this resource to suit my and my learner's needs. I have used this in my role as an LSA and pupils seem to enjoy the activity of looking at different handwriting patterns. I also using Morrell's handwriting books to support the handwriting sessions I with KS3 and KS4 learners.

I have created this based upon the tortoise letters, giraffe letters and monkey letters idea. Each has it's own section. Hope it is of some use. My kiddies love it. xccw joined is the name of the font this has been created in as used in our school. Please be aware that you will not be able to view the cursive font unless it is installed on your computer.

4 Half terms worth of interactive handwriting flips. 3-4 lessons a week.

Stage 1 Handwriting booklet. This booklet takes the learner through each step of letter formation using the Read Write Inc. programme. The booklet has a date section for you to track when each letter is complete.

This yellow handwriting paper gives children clear boundaries for their letter sizes. For year 3 children who struggle, I print this as A3 size so they can get the hang of their letters all sitting within the yellow coloured area. Descenders go below the yellow and ascenders reach above. Over the year, we print the sheets onto A4 paper. Then I use a highlighter pen in the children’s books to allow them to continue to practise their letter formation. I have had some mind blowing results!

Booklet for every single sound to practise handwriting.
