This resource is a compilation of 9 lessons in order to teach the topic of holiday to KS3 students. It teaches new structures and new vocabulary, but also implies prior knowledge. The lessons include some key grammar points (grammatical gender with the preposition in/to, near future tense) as well as key vocabulary words (list of countries, means of transport, accommodation, activities, opinions, adjectives, weather phrases, time phrases). The lessons are structures to work on all skills, with an emphasis on the reading/writing and translation skills. The lessons also include some ‘Conti-fied’ activities to better support the pupils (faulty translation, mosaic listening, rock climbing translation etc). It also includes a booklet that it ready to be printed, or individual lessons’ resources to print.

Children need to plan their train to the airport and flights to a destination from the 6 options ( I used the airport timetables from Twinkl) . The children have to try and ensure they are at the airport 2 hours before the flight departs and catch their train an hour after the flight lands on the way home. The second lesson looks at planning their holiday activities in the time allocated and within a budget. USed as an end of term task.
