Recently used as coverwork to fill a 3 week gap without a teacher. Students were asked to complete a mini Component 3-style project: research, plan, complete and evaluate a production task. Students were asked to create a vintage and modern horror film poster. This complemented Eduqas’ advertising products as well as giving students a taster of what they will have to do for their NEA in the summer. Great feedback from the students who really engaged with this project and handed in a some convincing posters!

A powerpoint which gets students to create an origami paper cup and then turn it into a “product”. The powerpoint has a series of lessons with start activities and then main activities where students can use their ICT and computing skills to create their brand/product design/advertising etc. Can be done in groups or individually. I have done this with several classes and they love it. Lots of creativity. Opportunities to teach new skills as you go along such as image editing, animation etc.

I’ve been working on creating a series of workbooks for OCR Creative iMedia R081. I used a block based structure to plan the course and therefore the workbooks I’ve attached (in files) reflect that. IM1 - Audience and Purpose IM2 - Work Plan IM3 - Hardware, Software and Peripherals IM4 - Moodboard IM5 - Visualisation Diagram IM6 - Mind Map IM7 - Storyboard IM8 - Script IM9 - Collecting assets (Primary v Secondary research) IM10 - Legal considerations IM11 - File formats IM12 - Health and safety considerations There is a teacher version and student version. They’re very versatile, they could be used as a revision activity, good for differentiation, build on from flipped learning or a good remote learning activity - these workbooks have worked well for my students during lockdown/closures.

A Level Product Design Exam Prep Questions

This resource pack consists of 24 weeks (2 terms) worth of mock exam questions, structured around the specification content of EDUQAS A Level Product Design, as well as model answers in the PowerPoints, written using the mark schemes and examiners reports. The questions can be given as standalone homework or used as extension tasks. The questions are mixed, (high and low mark questions), and gathered from past papers. I would recommend you give the students one question a week to complete for homework and then review it as group using these PowerPoints. Can also be used to cover the specification content from other A Level exam boards, as the content required is very similar.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 Nationals- Creative Digital Media Production- Unit 3: Digital Media Skills Exam

(1)
This booklet contains learning material for the completion of the preparatory work and activities for the set task for Unit 3: Digital Media Skills exam. ABOUT UNIT THREE EXAM: The assessment period lasts eight weeks and comprises: 5 hours for Activity 1 under supervised conditions 15 hours for Activity 2 under supervised conditions. **The best performing learners clearly used the preparatory period to: research their chosen theme develop a good understanding of relevant codes and conventions explore how the client’s specific requirements have been used in existing media products gather a range of assets/material from secondary sources **Specific marking guidance: The marking grids have been designed to assess learner work holistically. Rows within the grids identify the assessment focus/outcome being targeted. When using a marking grid, the ‘best fit’ approach should be used. ● Examiners should first make a holistic judgement on which band most closely matches the learner response and place it within that band. Learners will be placed in the band that best describes their answer. ● The mark awarded within the band will be decided based on the quality of the answer in response to the assessment focus/outcome and will be modified according to how securely all bullet points are displayed at that band. ● Marks will be awarded towards the top or bottom of that band depending on how they have evidenced each of the descriptor bullet points. **Formal supervision is the equivalent of examination conditions. Learners must work independently, cannot work with other learners, cannot talk about their work to other learners and will only be able to access the materials specified in the assessment. **Independent preparation is required in this assessment so that learners are able to source assets for their product. Centres need to make provision for this preparation using scheduled lessons and ensuring that learners have access to information and equipment that may be required. Learners should be working independently rather than being taught or directed. **Monitored preparation is provided when learners produce materials that are used in any formally supervised session. This includes notes, artefacts, assets, plans etc. as specified in the sample assessment. Monitored sessions are where learners are being directly observed. They may have, where specified, access to their own outcomes from preparation, access to the internet and use of appropriate resources. Learners are working independently and teachers/tutors will be able to authenticate that the outcomes for formal assessment meet the requirements and are authentic. At the end of the monitored preparation, centres will retain the assets which will be provided to learners during the formal supervised assessment.

Rendering exercises to help develop graphic and presentation skills.

A resource developed for years seven, eight or nine to improve graphic skills and presentation of ideas. The seven tasks begin with thick and thin line technique, rendering materials and texture. Students are given 'sample sheets' of black and white rendered forms that show how tonal detail and specific materials would appear rendered in both monochrome and colour. Students are then prompted to look at how to combine colour with tone and texture. The Powerpoint contains all the visual resources and examples needed to complete the assignment.

Understanding Trade - KS2 - Understanding that all products have a supply chain

(2)
This lesson is part of Understanding Trade, a Geography unit designed for students in upper KS2 (Y5-6). The presentation first asks students to think about how the products we buy arrive in the shops. It then introduces the concept of supply chains. To explain this concept, students look at the processes involved in the production of milk. There are two activities: Group Activity: Students sort and sequence four mixed up supply chains including those of bananas, T-shirts, bookshelves and coffee. Individual Activity: Students sequence the supply chains of bananas, T-shirts, bookshelves and coffee. Easier – Students sequence supply chains (first and last process given) Harder – Students sequence supply chains (no clues) If you like this resource, we would appreciate a review! We will happily send you a free resource in return for a review or useful suggestions/feedback. Contact us at ed@teachitforward.co.uk.
