I made this escape room for World Book Day last year (we had a crime / murder mystery theme). It uses literacy skills to work out clues to find the items stolen from a bank vault. My classes engaged well with it so hopefully yours will too. Could be easily used / adapted for remote learning if needed.

Not a complete lesson here, but several book-related activities which may be useful for World Book Day! The level is quite high, particularly for the activities relating to Lord of the Rings. The powerpoint contains: - a storyboard activity on Lord of the Rings Book One, with a focus upon imperfect and perfect in narrating. Includes sections of text to be stuck on the wall and a vocabulary helpsheet. Students may need a brief recap on the story first :) - some Harry Potter activities - a vocab match and then some activities to reinforce imperfect tense. - some children's book titles to match up - some split titles, some French with English - some activities based around the blurb of a David Walliams book - True / False, what's on the picture, extension questions and a translation into English. - a match the blurb to the book activity These are all English language books but using the French versions.
