A highly presented and detailed getting to know you/ meet your class pack of ice breaker activities. This resource is perfect to back to school and/or getting to know your new class or tutor group and helping them bond with one another. What is this resource? Blobs and Lines PowerPoint is an icebreaker game that is perfect for the beginning of term and will help pupils get to know each other and feel more comfortable in your classroom without any uncomfortable situations or embarrassing questions. Blobs and Lines focuses on getting to know each other whilst talking on a variety of interesting topics. This game has been created as a bright, colourful animated PowerPoint presentation, complete with 15 questions; all you have to do is set it in slideshow mode and the game will begin after the first slide. No extra equipment is required to play this game.** How does it work? A set of questions asks pupils to either line up in a particular order (by birthday, for example) or gather in groups based on something they have in common (eye colour, for example). This game keeps pupils moving and talking and helps them find things they have in common right away, building a sense of belonging and community in your classroom. This resource has been designed to be a back to school ice-breaker. The activity involves pupils finding someone in their group who meets the ‘find someone who…’ statement. It can be used as a getting to know others and an ice-breaker activity. Statements include: Find someone who … does not like chocolate has green eyes has met someone famous likes spiders owns a BMX bike has broken a leg has a birthday in May plays the piano can do the floss supports Liverpool FC The task is for them to speak one by one to everyone in the group until they find someone who meets the ‘find someone who…’ statement. They write the person’s name on their sheet. They then find another pupil for the second question. Pupils should speak to everyone in the group and aim to find a different person for every ‘find someone who…’ statement. The resource contains three ‘find someone who…’ statement sheets (with 25 statements on each sheet) and an eighty slide PowerPoint that can be used to introduce and explain the activity and the questions used. An easy find someone who worksheet to start off the year, or end off a term. Get students moving and interacting with others while using their Spanish. 10 squares to fill.

I use this exercise when starting in Excel. The students have normally done Word already so are familiar with the formatting toolbar. I then go on with this to practice inserting and deleting rows and columns in different ways (so they can see when eyes and noses disappear) We also do drag and drop – turning our face into a jigsaw by dragging out the features and then dragging them back. You can also go on to working with the format cell menus to add borders for glasses, or a moustache … Hope you have fun with this.
