This lesson is designed around the iGCSE Business Studies curriculum (Cambridge) however could easily be used for other exam boards. This lesson focuses on Laissez-faire, autocratic, and democratic leadership styles. There is a printable starter and main activity included. Included: PPT (with bell ringer & plenary included) Starter Main Activity *Because of copyright issues I have not included examples of real world ‘leaders’ however I would recommend doing so to contextualize the issue for students.

Managing Pupil Behaviour. Motivating Participants. Creating a Session Plan. Role of the Official. What contributes to a Healthy LifeStyle. I put together this power point and have used it successfully for many years while delivering the Sports Leaders Level 1 and 2 Award. The majority of students who have successfully gained the qualification have displayed social & emotional difficulties, Special Educational Needs and behaviour difficulties. The award has enabled them to develop personal confidence and self esteem, improve their communication skills, both verbal and non verbal and increase their fitness and health. Each module is broken down and explained in detail, so that each students fully understands the skills and qualities of a positive sports leader. I was observed by OFSTED during a school inspection and the feedback I got from them was excellent. If you do purchase this Power Point,please do leave feedback.

Ideal as part of a unit for the Gatsby Benchmark Careers Guidelines. The lesson sees students investigate the different facets of leadership, complete a leadership skills audit, team group activities, individual tasks, clip tasks and and is perfect for a PSHE Careers unit. This resource pack includes a one hour long PowerPoint with accompanying worksheets, well differentiated activities, literacy focus tasks, clip tasks with three-way differentiated questions and information sheets. This set of resources includes 2x PPT, 2x word files and can be delivered over 2-3 lessons. We start by looking at various leaders to find out what actually makes a good leader. We look at 3 fictional characters with different styes as well as 3 fictional businesses, students try to justify which leader is suited for each business, we then go on to look at the four styles with examples before reading a case study on a business that has been transformed through leadership - a 12 mark question with structure guidance and concise model answer provided for students to peer assess with. In the second lesson, we look at a scenario of autocratic leadership, students discuss for and against this style by applying it to the scenario. We then go on to an engaging group activity with different difficult scenarios students find themselves in, and as leaders they have a range of actions they can take to fix the difficult situations. A case study on the legendary investor Warren Buffet with a 4 mark question and model answer. Two links to kahoot quizzes and a box plenary to finish with. Colourful, concise and engaging slides!
