Phonics reader for whole class guided reading or for emailing home for reading with parents on tablet of phone. Learn to read by reading together as a class on the whiteboard. This colour-coded chapter book about a visit to the seaside introduces the letters and sounds S A T P. Each chapter introduces a new sound. The sounds already learned are in blue, new sounds are in red. sounds that can be blended are on white backgrounds. Children learn by reading along together with the teacher and start blending from day two. (Please see the video for guidance on how to use the book.) The book has vivid illustrations which offer opportunities to talk around the subject or story. The book introduces extended vocabulary (listed at the back of the book) and uses more complex and varied sentences which are less accessible when children read alone. cement what has been learned in the phonics session during guided reading or story time at the end of the day.
