I am offering this selection of resources as a freebie to give you an insight into the type of resources I create. I am a published author of poetry and short stories. This PDF file will give you an overall picture of the resources which have been recommended by TES and other teachers. I hope you like this and will review my work.

A Lent Story and Workbook

A PDF file of 20 pages for KS1 and KS2 looking at the celebration of Lent. The children will read about the reasons for fasting, the importance of the number 40, reflection and self-discipline, Jesus' suffering and pain, the origins of Mothering Sunday, Shrove Tuesday, Ash Wednesday and the use of the colour purple in churches. Having read the various fact sheets, they will then complete worksheets on what they have learned, poetry and story writing, writings about their mothers, words they have learned and their meanings, a few drawing activities and facts about my favourite pancake. A great resource as a lead up to Easter. I have also included a Powerpoint presentation in the price which teachers may wish to use in class or as an assembly.

Wonder by R.J. Palacio A Writing Workbook

This is a 24 page PDF file to be printed out and used before reading the book, while reading the book and after reading the book. Teachers will use this as they see fit. It is printer friendly as I have used very few colour graphics. It is suitable for KS2. A powerpoint has also been included. There are a variety of writing activities which can be printed out as an entire booklet for each child or as individual pages for working walls. I have tried to empathise with the characters especially August. In the workbook I have asked the children to look at the traits and feelings of the characters, their own feelings, to imagine they themselves are August and to write conversations and argumentative writings.Bullying and Bravery must also be written about by the children. I have also included designing a new cover, writing a book blurb, a book review and favourite character and part of the story. A great resource for a great book.

Mental Health Week 2018 Pupil Well Being

A PDF file of 22 pages which can be printed out as a booklet for each child, with one colour cover and the rest in black and white. This resource will raise the pupils' awarenes of emotions and growth mindsets, working with partners discussing similarities and differences, looking at skills and ways to improve them, rules and punishments, conflict with peers and co-operation. The pupils will be asked to think about who helps them when their emotions are sad, angry or upset and what causes these emotions. Every child is unique, should disability mean different treatment. A great resource for increasing Mental health awareness and issues.

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas Workbook

This is a 20 page PDF file to be used while reading the book or as a workbook after the children have finished reading the story. The first few slides are a history of Auschwitz with comprehension questions and original poems. The written activities include writing acrostic poems, diary entries, discussing the themes in the book, questions about the characters, descriptive writing and book reviews. This will also be useful for World Holocaust Day, World War 2 topic or discussion on human rights. Suitable for KS2 children.

A PDF file and Powerpoint presentation of 20 slides which can be printed out as a booklet for a group of children or the entire class of KS2. The tasks include factsheet reading and comprehension questions, problem solving with number, money and tables, writing formal letters of invite and acceptance, drawing activities and a variety of short writing activities eg what is written inside the card. Therefore this is good for differentation.

This 12 page resource is for children in KS2, it can be used as a one off lesson about Martin Luther King or as a unit about equal rights, discrimination and helping the world. There is a fact sheet, an information sheet and then some writing activities. What do you know about Martin Luther King Day? Write about someone else who has changed the world. Children are asked to write their own I Have a Dream speech. A powerpoint display is also included for classrrom discussion.

This 28 page resource has the Nativity story written in an original format and in child friendly vocabulary. It is suitable for KS1 and tells the story of the birth of Jesus, the visit of the shepherds, the journey of the wisemen and the role of King Herod. It consists of reading pages and follow up writing and drawing activities. The booklet can be printed out for each child or used for differentation. It is a similar format to my Easter story book recommended by Tes. I have also included a powerpoint presentation. Written activities include vocabulary exercises, comprehension questions, newspaper reports , sentence construction, retelling parts of the story and ordering.

A 20 page PDF workbook for young readers and writers. Each page has a picture as a clue and a few sentences telling the pupil what they have to write about. Activities include All About Me, Superheroes, descriptive and imaginative writing, writing a list, writing a poem, writing book reviews and predicting from the picture clue. There is space for the children to write about 5/6 sentences. This is a suitable resource for emerging readers and writers or SEN children.
