A PDF file with an original story about The Potato Famine in Ireland written by me in a child friendly vocabulary and various Literacy tasks. Includes a fact sheet about the famine, comprehension sheets, grammar activities, drawing activities, creative writing, a story review sheet, speech and brainstorming. This would be very useful as a cross curricular resource for KS1 or KS2 it could be linked to geography, art, history and English. Can be printed out as a complete workbook or as individual pages.

This is a 20 page PDF file to be used while reading the book or as a workbook after the children have finished reading the story. The first few slides are a history of Auschwitz with comprehension questions and original poems. The written activities include writing acrostic poems, diary entries, discussing the themes in the book, questions about the characters, descriptive writing and book reviews. This will also be useful for World Holocaust Day, World War 2 topic or discussion on human rights. Suitable for KS2 children.

This is a child friendly story written in simple language telling the facts about Vasco Da Gama's journey around Africa to the trading city of Calcutta in India. It can be printed out as a complete workbook or as individual pages for project work and display. It includes reading and writing activities, diary entries, a ship's log entry, newspaper reporters questions, descriptive and imaginative writing and a few comprehension questions.

This 26 page pack contains one class novel written by me (5 chapters) and can be used as a whole unit of work when covering The Stone Age. Another original short story written by me in a child friendly vocabulary set in 1895, Jayne, the young lady of the house is attending a ball in the manor and waiting patiently for a young suiter to appear. There are various characters in the story and this could be used as an introduction to a long novel, Shakespearian or Dickensian literature in preparation for Grammar/ Secondary school. There are pages to read and discuss so I have included a powerpoint presentation followed by comprehension questions, writing activities and drawing conclusions. There is dictionary work and internet research.

This is a great PDF resource for the topic The Victorian Era. There are three stories written by me in child-friendly vocabulary about the lives and legacy of three famous Victorian women, Florence Nightingale, Grace Darling and Beatrix Potter. Each story has 5 accompanying worksheets which involve comprehension questions, grammar questions, cartoon strips, spelling puzzles, words and meanings, writing diary entries, writing newspaper reports, letter writing and imaginative writing. The resource can be printed out for groupwork and differentation within the classroom set up. I have also included a powerpoint presentation which can be used with the slower children and the teacher.
