Times Tables Challenges & Tracker

(0)
Resource includes: 16 Progressive Multiplication Tests (Multiplication Only OR Multiplication & Division Mixed) Display Class Tracker Individual Pupil Tracking Cards Need a simple resource to support children in LKS2 to learn and practice Times Tables… here’s my simple scheme. Done once a week Everyone starts at 10x and each week move through the challenges. 4 mins… 40 Questions - you need to get 40/40 to progress to the next challenge (Makes it easy to target specific questions for children to work on!) Put the trackers on the wall and add a sticker each time they pass one and watch how rapidly the children move through! Quick, easy and simple to implement. It has been very effective in my class over the past 4 years. Once they pass all the Multiplication ONLY tests, they then can restart and include the Multiplication/Division Mixed tests (or start with those). All the trackers are editable for your class.

How to play: Put all of the strips into a cup/pot Children play the game in groups Children choose a strip and if they answer correctly, they get to keep this. If children pull out a ‘KABOOM’ strip they have to put all of their collected strips back into the pot. The child at the end of the round with the most strips wins! Times Tables Precision Teaching Booklet

(0)
Need a quick and easy intervention to support student to learn tables - This booklet is designed to support a student to develop recall of tables through a focused daily minute of recall. The booklet has a pre and post assessment as well as record space to track daily progress. Some students need to use a structured approach to get number facts into their long-term memory – they do not seem to keep them there just by regular use in maths lessons. This booklet can be used to support this process. On each page is a grid with items to prompt the student to say a tables fact. Each day they should count how many oral responses they can give in a minute – and record that on the sheet. The aim is to be able to recall a few more each day. The precision teaching approach works best if the student can do an activity using the content of the page they are currently working on for a few minutes ( 5 to 10) before they do the one-minute timed activity. There are lots of interactive maths sites online e.g. Topmarks: teaching resources, interactive resources, worksheets, homework, exam and revision help – and this is a great way to give student this opportunity in a way that they can do independently. At the end of the booklet is a tables square for reference and some ideas for extension activities.

This telling the time puzzle is a fun way to test students ability to tell the time. Students match the image of an analogue clock, the time in words, digital and 24-hour time. Included are variations of the follwing times: o’clock, half past, quarter past and to, 10 minute intervals and minute intervals. It is designed to be easily cut with little wastage. So either the teacher or tutor can prepare the cards by cutting them before hand, or students can cut their own cards, giving them a chance to see the solutions before they attempt the puzzle. Although this product is made in colour, it prints perfectly well in black and white. Available as part of Matching Activity Bundle One. OCR GCSE Concerto through time (30 slides)

A Power Point presentation that I produced for my year 10 and 11 students covering the ‘Concerto through time’ content needed for their GCSE. I tried to make this as clear, structured and interactive as possible (with in built tasks and hyperlinks). I used it this year with my students for the first time and most of them managed to identify the differences between the concerto’s from the different type periods excellently, so really pleased with it! :) Hope you all find it as effective as I did!
