Transgender / Gender Identity PSHE

(5)
2 HOUR LESSON A fully-resourced transgender PSHE / RSE lesson which serves as an introduction to the difference between sex and gender and explores sexuality, identity, language (correct terms) and gender expression. Students will explore new key terminology before investigating the key components of identity and sexual orientation, why some people still find some of the ideas behind this controversial (such as pronoun use) and then educate other students on a trait they will be working on and presenting in small groups (all information needed is included). This lesson is great to consolidate the PSHE 2020/24 spiral curriculum (especially for an LGBT+ unit) or for a Citizenship diversity unit. The lesson has been written for KS5 and is editable, so easy to adapt for your own PSHE planning. The lesson includes a detailed PowerPoint, detailed information sheets, differentiated challenge activities and worksheets, clips tasks with questions and a literacy / debate focus task. These resources have been designed to be engaging, detailed and easy to follow.
