I teach IGCSE Geography at an international school in Southeast Asia. My students could recite the natural causes of climate change and still could not explain why scientists rule them out for the present day.

This module covers the topic for Cambridge IGCSE Geography 0460, written for the 2027 syllabus. It includes a 57 slide PowerPoint presentation, a matching Word workbook in four sections in full colour and grayscale, a full answer key throughout, and access to 21 interactive activities for this module on the Geography Oasis website, included as a bonus.

Syllabus coverage:

  • Orbital changes: the three Milankovitch cycles and what each one alters
  • Sunspots, the roughly eleven-year cycle, and the size of the effect
  • Volcanic activity, and how an eruption cools the planet
  • Named eruptions as evidence, including Pinatubo 1991 and Tambora 1815
  • The timescale each natural factor works on
  • Why no natural cause explains the warming of the last fifty years

Also suitable for AP Human Geography, World Geography, and any climate change or environmental issues unit at ages 14-16.

Format and compatibility:

Delivered as PowerPoint (.pptx) and Word (.docx) files. All written content is fully editable, though diagrams and visuals are not.
