Climate Change Complete Unit: Evidence to Responses

**Teach climate evidence, causes, impacts and responses as a connected geography unit.** The six modules move from the evidence for climate change through natural and human causes to impacts and management. Iceland provides the final detailed specific example, bringing renewable energy, glacier retreat, changing livelihoods and climate responses into one setting. **Modules included** **- Module 1:** Evidence of Climate Change. Help students use different kinds of evidence to explain how the climate is changing. **- Module 2:** Natural Causes of Climate Change. Help students explain natural climate processes and compare the timescales on which they operate. **- Module 3:** The Human Influence. Help students explain how human activities strengthen the greenhouse effect. **- Module 4:** Climate Change Impacts. Help students trace climate impacts from physical changes to consequences for people and ecosystems. **- Module 5:** Managing Climate Change. Help students compare climate responses and justify a balanced judgement about their effectiveness. **- Module 6:** Climate Change in Iceland. Help students explain climate impacts in Iceland and evaluate the responses using named evidence. **Teaching options and materials** Each module provides **Full Lesson and Essentials presentations**, matching workbooks and booklets, a separate collaborative lesson, exam practice, a mark scheme and a short assessment. Full Lesson workbooks have colour, black-and-white and typed-response versions. Essentials Booklets have completed and student-notes versions. **Whole-unit materials** The complete unit also contains combined whole-unit workbooks and Essentials Booklets, including completed and notes versions with black-and-white alternatives, and a Climate Change unit mock with a student version for typed responses and a mark scheme. These support teaching and revision across module boundaries. **Learning through activity** Students assemble an evidence case file, hold a tribunal on natural causes and teach one another about greenhouse gases. They construct an impact web, debate mitigation and adaptation, and represent Iceland at a climate summit. Each collaborative lesson has its own presentation and printable materials.
