A very effective resource for introducing learners to algebra and solving 1 - step equations.
I have written everything that I would say in a lesson, in simple terms, so pupils can easily understand the topic.

I have included lots of worked examples, using balancing beams, to illustrate how equations work, and how we can solve them.

There are mini check-ins (afl) to help learners to reflect regularly on how well they understand the topic, as well as how confident they feel about the activities.

Differentiated mini activities allow learners to feel a sense of achievement and confidence before they begin answering the main questions.

Lots of opportunities for self-reflection. If used in small groups, the answers are included so there are opportunities for peer assessment too!

Easy to follow, and fully differentiated, this workbook is ideal for independent learning or a group activity.

Featuring:

  • Keywords and Objectives.
  • What are equations?
  • A WELL DONE page for pupils to circle their learning outcomes (there are lots to choose from!)
  • Mini activities and a main section for questions, with ANSWERS.
  • Differentiated learning with AFL included, and multiple feedback opportunities.
The font is Josephin Sans which should be accessible for learners.

I spend a lot of time planning, creating, and auditing every learning resource that I make. As such, all of Miss P’s Maths Resources are copyrighted and not suitable for redistribution.
