The 13th Documentary Movie Guide | Questions | Worksheet (TVMA - 2016) challenges students to digest and analyze the incredible story this films tells about the 13th amendment, the war on drugs, mass incarceration and the prison-industrial complex. Explore the impact that Nixon, Reagan and Clinton had on the war on drugs and how companies profited off legislation which ALEC had a part in introducing. Ask students to ponder how technology like camera phones are affecting the Black Lives Matters movement and what it means for all citizens. Finally, ask students to come up with their own solutions to some of the problems outlined in the film.
